Guest guest
Just looking quickly, they look about right. The big error is the 2nd meal is not 390 calories, but is about 310 calories. I thought that your goal was 325 calories per meal. Perhaps that should be corrected if it is indeed the goal. Your dietician may be doing the meals by hand and that requires some more advanced math skills once you have 3 or 4 ingredients. There may be a difference in how she is doing the calculations. They are just a bit out. I have seen a lot worse. I am sure that you can easily find out why there is a difference in the numbers. Bill Guserbean@... wrote: > To anyone in the group. Guest guest
Okay... I plugged it into my planner and this is what I got: Assuming is at her ideal weight of 13.16 (29lbs) she is getting 74 calories per kg. At 974 calories (my planner doesn't do 975) she would get a daily allowance of 13.16 protein, 97.4 fat, and 11.19 carbs. So.......we have the same fat allowance, but they have upped her protein and downed the carbs. Might there be a reason for this? I am not uncertain that this cannot be done without a problem. I don't know. Others that have lowered the ratio have found too many carbs don't work and have lowered the carbs and upped the protein... but since she is new to the diet I am wondering why this was done???? Wait and get more input from more experienced keto diet parents. But, it looks like the big fat component is right. If you have any specific meals you want me to check out, I can do that. Or are you doing the MCT version? Also, if you have Excel you can download the Stanford planner off the internet for free, and it might be worth your while to do this and get familiar with it right from the start. I wish I had used a planner from the beginning. Hope this helps. If you are having a problem, what is it? Is she vomiting? Were you just shocked at how little food she was getting (that was a big one for me)? Or are you hand calculating and confused? Guest guest
I think that the daily protein is 16.5, based on 5.5 per meal and 3 meals per day and 975 total calories. Protein can be anywhere from 1.1 to 1.5 gm per kg of weight for young children. At 16.5 gm and 13.2 kg, that comes to 1.25 gm protein per kg which is okay. To get better control, you might want to have one or 2 snacks a day. The easiest way to calculate is to use the daily allowance and calculate 4 meals a day. Take one of those meals and divide it in half to get 2 snacks and 3 meals. Don't be too hard on the dietician. She is probably not given enough time or resources to do her job. At least she seems to be trying. It likely takes as long to do one keto diet plan as it does to do 100 regular meals in a hospital. Bill Falk wrote: > Okay...
