Guest guest
Melinda, I wasn't really told any cause of the throwing up across the room. I can't remember that far back so maybe they said something and maybe they didn't. For the most part though I think the only problems we had after starting Pregestimil was still throwing up but wasn't as severe. It wouldn't shoot way out there. We've gone through so many outfits and furniture having to throw them out. Once that kind of formula gets on there there's no way to get it out. Unless I didn't try hard enough.. and the smell was horrible! Also, was hungrary every 1/2 hour or hour. It was literally like he had a neverending stomache. After he was born I didn't feel like I was taking care of him properly. I felt really sick and 2 weeks later at his 2 week check up..they found out I had an infection up there. I tried telling them about that too but they said that he was bigger than my first baby and that's why it hurts more...Alyssa weighed 4 pounds 14 ounces and weighed 5 pounds 15 ounces. I'm probably getting off the subject. If I haven't answered your question I'm sorry but maybe someone else can. from PA
Guest guest
" Projectile vomiting " is what throwing up across the room is called, medically. It can be caused by reflux...which CF babies tend to have. had this, too, as well as Day Glo green poops, huge messes that were hard for him to pass, though they were watery. Poor baby. I took him to several doctors in the area, who all assured me that the puking and the day-glo poops were " normal. Guest guest
I didn't know if anyone would know the term " projectile vomitting " so that's why I used " throwed up 10 -20 feet away " . Sorry. from PA
Guest guest
- My son also had the throwing up all the way across the room thing. We too were on pregestimil, but still battled the throw up every day for at least 5 months (maybe more like 7). My sister never had this, and I never got any explanation from a cf stand point. What were you told was the cause of this. I have another cf baby on the way, and would like to know in case it occurs again. Guest guest
Don't be sorry! I wasn't criticizing you. I was just explaining for the people who asked what that means! :-) > From: ck570@... > > I didn't know if anyone would know the term " projectile vomitting " so that's > why I used " throwed up 10 -20 feet away " . For us Patti had reflux and was lactose intollerant and she didn't get any better, even on reflux meds. until we switched her to lacto free formula. Guest guest
Hello I just read your email and I think the cause of the vomiting is due to an amout of phleghm (?) that is swallowed by children with cf. This happend to my son also and the docs asked me had this happend when they were testing my son for cf. Sadly it had and he tested positive, it has happend since but only when he had a cold and there is a build up of mucus. I think when he is older he will be able to cough up more rather than swallow it. Hope this helps...
