Guest guest
does anyone know if the new pari compressor is as good /as fast as the invacare 50 psi? My sister needs a decent compressor (shock, is using a pulmomate that came with ) for . Of course, got spoiled at our house using our 50 PSI. This pulmomate that she has appears to be on last leg. Thing is, the psi costs over 300 bucks, and the new pari one is about 94 bucks and she can pretty much get one in 48 hours.' Has anyone tried it? It says it is high powered and comes with reinforced tubing so it won't blow off (frankly,t hey needed that with the " old " pari proneb turbos as well. I also understand that the new one even comes in a pediatric version in a really cool green color? anyone sporting this new highpowered compressor and want to fill me in on the pros and cons? I am thinking maybe just spring for one anyway. Its probably faster than the duraneb 3000 and thus could go to school with I suppose if its too slow to compete with the 50 psi. feedback appreciated before I or robyn plunks down almost a hundred bucks (might be well worth the 10 or so mins it should cut of treatments, though) Jen

What's up with the tubing blowing off? He hates that -- in fact, he's gone back to using whatever DeVilbiss compressor they gave him during the TOBI study. At first he thought the Proneb was faster, but with the tubing constantly popping off, forget it. His Proneb was a freebie -- won it at the 1998 CFRI conference. Other than the tubing blow-offs, he likes the small, compact shape, but it's heavy for traveling. We still have his original DeVilbiss (purchased in the 80's!), and a heavy upright travel battery/AC-DC model I bought in 1989 (also DeVilbiss I think). So those two are the only compressors we've ever bought. But I'd also like to read some input about the compressors others are using! Guest guest
Kim I did some research. Pari makes a new tubing to solve this problem. It has blue tips. Also, though we don't use the sidestream nebs they gave to us, we love that tubing with the pari neb cups....it does NOT blow off. so you might try the tubing that comes with the sidestreams. I imagine that Grandmom Bev can get the blue tip new pari tubing. I saw it at the www.americanallergy.com website when looking at the picture of the new pari proneb compressor, so if you look at that pic of the new compressor, and scroll down, there are pics there of the new tubing. i think its 3 tubings for about 12 bucks at that site. grandmom bev can usually beat the prices. but anyway, the pictures are there if you want to look. for a cheap solution, ron bought clamps (little plastic black ones) at the hardware store, they are round and fit over the end of the tubing and will hold it on witht he proneb. thats what we used to do prior to discovering the sidestream tubing. the clamps were dirt cheap. maybe will know what I am talking about. Guest guest
I'm trying to get our Dr. to write a script for the proneb. They are reluctant to do this as they don't know what for concentration these different nebulizers give out. You know, how much medicine our children are really getting. I know they advised me not to put our TOBI in the side stream neb. cup. I guess the particles would break down to smaller ones. Oh heck, I don't know what I'm talking about. One last note. This has nothing to do with this list but I want to let you all know that my husband and I are trying to stop smoking. 5 days for him it's been and 3 days for me it's been. from P.A. Guest guest
We just got a new Nebulizer and it is called a sportneb. Has anyone heard of this kind of Nebulizer? It is a lot smaller then the first one we had but I don't think it works any faster. Deb A

Guest guest
Actually, it does have allot to do with the list. WE all KNOW that smoking around those with CF is really horrible for the PWCF. Even in the room, on clothes, in hair, etc. SO IT IS FANTASTIC that you all are stopping ..YEAH!!!! for you both.
