I have had trouble up until today getting into the yahoo photos ... It's

just me, I know. But still, up until today I couldn't see the pictures. Well, I

just took a break from my work covered desk to try again, and was able to get

in there. (yeah!!)

Oh man, all your kids are SO adorable! And (sniff) are all so little and

cute. Mine aren't little anymore -- far from it. I know I have photos from when

Ian was first aided (8-years-old) and maybe I can find them, so I can show

you mine when they were still little and cute. (grin)

The pictures are under the name " jillwoodshed " because my screen name

" jillcwood " was already taken. Most are of Ian and there's one of trying

to

dunk him in a hotel pool. She rarely succeeds since he is now as strong as an

ox. Something happens to boys when the hormones get into the action. They

don't look that much different -- they're not suddenly muscle bound, but those

slender frames suddenly had three times the strength they did pre-hormones.

We've noticed it in him as well as the other boys his age in the scout troop. I

jokingly call him " the hulk. "

The picture of Ian in the black kayak is from scout camp last summer. They

had a competition to build a boat out of cardboard and then race across the

lake. Unlike the other troops who tried to make canoes, his troop built a kayak,

coated it with black plastic garbage bags and put Ian ( " the kayaking

machine " ) into it as their racer. He beat everyone, including the staff who

simply

covered a real canoe in cardboard. They left the kayak there for the next set

of campers and apparently it became the legend of the summer. It was used

again and other troops mimicked it.

So, this year, they're going to do it one better and make a creative

statement. They plan to build another kayak but shape it and add a head and tail

to

make it look like a loon. The camp changed the rules this year so the troops

now have to make the paddles out of cardboard as well. Ian plans is to make

" wings " out of cardboard and strap them onto his arms. They're at camp this

week, so I have no clue how this plan has turned out.

All I know is they took every roll of duct and packing tape in the house and

my office, the entire box of garbage bags, and some polyurethane that I had

just bought (to touch up the kitchen cabinets), as well as the big boxes I

got at U-Haul to mail the hand-me-down clothes out to the cousins. I'll share

photos when/if I see them. I hope they remember to take some!

Best to all -- Jill

Oh my gosh. How fun is this. I have already developed such an

emotional attachment to all your kids. I love to hear about their

achievements as well as challenges. Now I have a picture too! They

are all charming, handsome and incredibly exhuberant in their joyful

expressions. (even the awkward teens, one of which is staying with us

(my real nephew) for the last 3 weeks, giving me a glimpse of what is

to come...)I feel like a doting aunty...

I had to add mine too. Our album is call .

Just call me Aunt Tracey!

I always like to click on the links for photos or websites that I find in the

listen-up posts. Unfortunately, I can't remember my yahoo password or id and

I'm not very good at navigating these sites. I get the listen up posts in

digest and that's really my only link to you guys. Anyway, since we were

talking about putting pictures with names I thought I'd throw my boys' website

out there. www.caringbridge.org/va/ryanbay Every once in a while I would sign

my posts and include the website but lately life has gotten so " normal " that I

don't even talk about the hearing issue all the time. But I do realize that

it's also nice for people to be able to see that things do normalize after a

while. When you pull up the site you'll see the most recent journal but you can

click on " journal history " for past entries. I've been doing it for almost two

years I think!

is 5.75 years and got his CI at 20 months. He uses a hearing aid in the

unimplanted ear. The photo on the website is cute because it's him and his

brother playing doctor and he's pretending to look in the ear with the otoscope.

>Hi Cherie,

Your Billie and girls also are just darling. Wow, I sure wouldn't

know what to do with girls. Hard to believe the trail of postings

when they look like angels.

is doing great except that we all have the flu. Seems we are

rotating it through the family with about 5 days down for each of us.

Thank goodness we are just a family of 4.
