Guest guest
>I had the same problem with Casey while she was on the diet. The doctors found out that Casey was starting to got through puberty early and that was why she was gaining the weight not just the diet. Not sure if this will help you out but this was what was the reason Casey still gained on the diet for us Thanks Shpankys wife
Guest guest
> Casey is doing great! there were 2 other children at the hospital that had a partial callosotomy done were as Casey's was a full. The doctors said Casey did the best out of the kids.We are very gratful for all the prayers that people said. Casey is walking, talking and doing better everyday. The only thing we have noticed is she is having some trouble with her left hand but that is all. Thank you I am hoping that you are able to find out what is going on with your child it is very hard for a mother when you don't get the answers that are needed. Guest guest
Hi . Kristan was quite chunky when she started the diet and was put on low calories and lost the weight. You need to wait at least two weeks before you make any changes and as you have probably read from other posts, do one thing at a time. I think you should reduce anywhere from 50-100 calories. I hope some of the other parents answer on that as I thought I read that in a previous post. I know when we are raising calories for Kristan, we always wait about two to three weeks and raise by 80-100 calories. You should probably get her weighed every week or two weeks on the same scale for consistency. Kristan is weighed every two weeks, but whenever we do a ratio/calorie change we get her weighed every week until we know her weight is constant. Is very active? If not, then maybe she should be at the lower calories, b/c Kristan is not that active and that's why she is on the lower calories for her age. What is your dietitian's suggestion? Hope this helps. Guest guest
The most common " error " when starting the diet is having calories set too high. Now you have the " correct " calorie level and weight is constant; no surprise there. I don't think that you have a problem. Everything seems to be working very well. I wouldn't change anything for at least 2 weeks, probably a month. You should be taking accurate weight every week to fine tune the diet. Good luck, Bill frumpymumma wrote: > I need some input from you folks!!! > > We are just back from 's " weigh in " at the neuros. In six weeks > on the diet she had gained 4 lbs. Guest guest
If everything is going well, I wouldn't make any changes. If the high ketones at night are a problem, you could give a bit of apple juice then. Bill Falk wrote: > Yes, we have started weighing in every week. I keep thinking she will go down, but not yet. She is complaining of hunger this week, so maybe we will see a loss tomorrow when we go. > > Ketones remain pretty high at 3:1 and there may be a lowering of ratio ahead. From now on I would go .25 down... as ketones only seem nasty high at night, and not always. > > Having her feel good is so nice, so I do hesitate to make any changes. Thanks for your input. >
