Is it anywhere near the Chuck E. Cheese on Chase? Or are you not familiar with that? Would it be north or south I wonder.

I know that it's on the corner of Chase and Oklahoma, so you can either head down Oklahoma and it's several blocks past St. Luke's or if you are on Chase - I believe it's the same street that Home Depot is on that is being remodeled and there is a new Applebee's in front of it - after the Home Depot it curves around to the left and then it's not too far from there. Their address is 3116 S. Chase Ave. and the phone number is (414)747-8700. I hope that all makes sense.

I grew up in Door County (now in MN, too) and my folks will be back there visiting family next month. I'd love to go the conference in GB (have family there, too) but am busy that weekend. Do you have an address for the GF store in Milw (or phone number, are they listed)?

BTW, isn't it Wisconsonians? How about sneakers vs. tennis shoes?

Hi Jodanne, The address for the Gluten-Free Trading Co. is 3114mS. Chase Avenue and their toll-free # is 1-.This is a new location, they were on 6th & Lincoln. You can also order from their website www.food4celiacs.com. Michele BTW-Wisconsinites is the correct term. And we always called our tennis shoes Tenni's(say tenneees). Jodanne - and everyone -

The place in Milwaukee is The Gluten-Free Trading

Company, 604A W. Lincoln /ave, Milwaukee, WI 53215,

www.gluten-free.net, 1-.

Not only is everything in the store g-f, but they do

mail order, too. They are very nice youngish people,

and I have seen them at several conferences. I try to

get to one conference a year.

They will send you a catalog of the things they carry

if you request it. I haven't got a recent one, as I

seldom order by mail. For heaven's sake, I live in

the second largest metropolis in the USA< if I can't

find what I want around here, I'm not looking very

hard.

Okay, so I was a little wrong with the directions. It's actually

Holt Ave. - that Home Depot and Applebee's are on - and when you get

down to Chase Ave. it curves to the left. You actually can't go

straight anymore there - only left or right. Anyway, it's several

blocks North of there. I think that Chuck E. Cheese is actually not

quite that far north, if I remember correctly. It's a little bit

tough to see. I think there is a bar next door and it's not quite

on the corner of Oklahoma and Chase. There is a parking lot on the

actual corner and then a small alley way and then the GF Trading

Company. You really should check it out. They have a lot of stuff

there. I always love to stop when I get a chance. There is a

gluten free bakery out in Pewaukee also, if you ever get out that

way. It's called Molly's Bakery. They are in Lyndale Farms, if you

have any idea where that is, but that's also easy to find. It's

right off the interstate. Good luck.

We are way on the west side of the state in Fergus Falls. I know

just where you are though. I am quite familiar with the cities and

love that area. I am actually there often too because my sister and

her family live in Maple Grove. I wish there was some sort of group

in this area too, but the closest is a Gluten Intolerance Group in

Fargo, ND, which is an hour away and that's just too far for me to

drive just for meetings and stuff.

My husband works on the other side of Waukesha and has to pass Pewaukee to get home, and my BIL and SIL live right in Pewaukee so I'll have to track that bakery down. Didn't the woman who now owns the Gluten free grocery store use to work at that bakery? I thought I read that and that they make gluten free wedding cakes. I know Cass is only 5 and not even 100% fully tested yet.. but I'm looking for a GF wedding cake already! lol

I don't believe that she did. The bakery is new as of last October,

I think. It's called Molly's Bakery and if you know where Lyndale

Farms is, it's pretty easy to locate because it's right in there.

They are only open on certain days though (like Wednesdays, Fridays,

and Saturdays or something), so I would check before you go. It's a

family owned store that they opened after their granddaughter,

Molly, was diagnosed with celiac disease. Anyway, you should

definitely check it out.

I only moved to Wisconsin about a year and a half ago. Seems to be a fairly good place for Celiacs, but a bit hard to break into the social circles, as most people are born and raised here. I live less than a mile from Molly's bakery. Good Harvest Market in Pewaukee has a lot of gluten free foods as well. I can't eat too many carby gluten free foods, as I start rapidly gaining weight, so I try to stick with mostly whole foods and lower carb.

, I know exactly what you mean about the social circles. I was born and raised in Lake Genenva and moved to the North Shore about 7 yrs ago. I have YET in 7 yrs to make close friends up here. Everyone seems to be so clicky here. Ugh. I'm having a hard time adjusting myself, so you're not alone.

Maybe sometime we can get together for coffee? Where did you move from again? Sorry if you already explained all that, being knew I'm still trying to get a feel for who's who.

We tried this bakery- it's kind of out in the boonies from Waukesha- and the bread was awful- husband threw it away. It seems their desserts were better tho

Talk is cheap. Use Yahoo! Messenger to make PC-to-Phone calls. Great rates starting at 1¢/min.

- Isn't the Gluten-Free Trading Company just a

store that sells all different brands of gluten-free

products? In that case, you'd need to specify the

manufacturer of the bread that hubby didn't like. In

my book, all g-f breads are awful. The only half-way

decent ones are those I bake myself, and those are

also iffy.

Well I was out and about yesterday and stopped by the GF Trading Co. It's super small but they have a lot of stuff. The woman that owns it is SUPER nice and talks and talks. Very helpful, although the phone rang every 5 seconds. That's a good sign though. We only bought a package of double cho. cookies, like oreo's. Umm.. this will definitely take some getting use to. I was the only one in the car that made it past the first bite without gagging. lol. It actually got better the more you ate, I guess it was just different.
