Guest guest
Hi All, I took Callie yesterday to see Dr. Agin - for her re-evaluation, it's been approx 16 months since we saw her for the first time & she was dx'd w/ severe apraxia. I am proud to say that she was very pleased with Callie's speech progress. With that said, she told me that she feels Callie has social anxiety disorder - not all together uncommon in children w/ apraxia. So, of course I am back to those who have been there. Has anyone had this with their child? What did you do as far as treatment? What has been the outcome & in what amount of time? Dr. Agin told me to pretty much back off on prompting her ( speech ) let her make errors and take some of pressure off..Callie is 4 yrs old. Any words of advise & wisdom would help a lot. Just when things are beginning to look brighter,s he's been doing so, so well..now this !!!! Thanks __________________________________________________
