Guest guest
Thanks everyone for all the great advice. I did call the CF clinic and the doctor on call did want to see her especially since she has yet to have a throat culture done. They took blood and did x-rays of her chest and stomach and they swabbed her throat. Her chest and stomach look great. The blood work looked good including her electrolytes. Her throat does have puss pockets on it and the swab came up very green. It looks as though the mucus is coming from her sinuses. We won't know about the throat culture for a while but the doctor did give her a potent shot of antibiotic and something for the nausea. She just hasn't been herself since Monday and I have been so worried. She has never been sick like this before. I am glad I called the CF clinic. Everybody was so great at the hospital and they just whisked us in at the emergency and put us right into a private little room. I will no longer feel guilty for calling the after hours number. I am anxious to know what the throat culture shows. She does seem to have problems with her sinuses. I just wanted to give everybody an update. Thanks for all the help! I didn't reply because I am new to all of this, too, and thought others would have great advice...and they did... mama to 1 yo w/CF and 3 yo woCF > From: smmpra@... > Thanks everyone for all the great advice.
