Guest guest
Has anyone tried to get the EFA by simply eating foods high in EFA? I know about the problems with mercury in fish. I'm just wondering if it is feasible. Jeanne
Guest guest
I mix it with liquid vitamins and use a medicine dropper. He didn't love it at first but it's over quick. Now he doesn't seem to mind it. I think most here mix with apple sauce or pudding, but that didn't work for me. I've also heard of people mixing it with juice and 7 up, but you'd have to know that they'd drink it down pretty quick. > > > This was my dilemma while pregnant. Guest guest
Dakota my now 11 year old diagnosed a few times now for many years as ADHD son is on a one to one ratio of ProEFA to ProEPA and he HAS to take ten capsules a day (five of each) or everyone knows if he forgets to! (he's bouncing off the walls literally!) We got to that dosage over a period of years and that's where he does best. Tanner my 9 year old apraxic son has to take at least 6 capsules a day (four of ProEFA and two of ProEPA) but he used to be on 9 a day like your child (six of ProEFA and three of ProEPA) Higher than 9 a day for Tanner and we noticed his speech wasn't that clear -so 9 is tops for him. At the start of the year or during stress times we'll up his dosage -but he's doing really well on the six a day now. Speaking of side effects...other great side effect of EFAs...do any of your children on EFAs get sick anymore even when exposed to others who are sick? Can't say never -but almost can here! =====
Guest guest
Thanks for your response. I am curious to know how she is doing with the 6 per day. Jeff <kerripat@...> wrote: Well, that was kind of the point of my original message. There is no " right " dosage for any age. As has pointed out, fish oils are not a vitamin but rather a food. If I were you, I would go as high as probably 8 or 10 capsules per day, as long as my son was not having any bad side effects and I was seeing some results. Two capsules is a very conservative dose for any age. My daughter just started 6 per day, and she is 3.5 years old. Hope this helps! Guest guest
Please what is the benefit of ProEPA taken with ProEFA? My son recently has been diagnosed with ADHD and I'm wondering if this would help as gives her sons both. I do not want to be ignorant about this. Thanks a bunch!! Guest guest
Hi , WOW! 9 capsules in one day??? I have been reading all the posts that are conservative in saying start out with 1-2 a day and look for any changes. I have been use Pro-EFA for about 3 months pretty consistantly and stared with 1 in the morning anf 1 at night. Now we are up to 3 at night and 2 in the morning. I really started to see a difference once I upped the dose. I felt like mabe I was giving her too much. She is 5.4 Yrs and 42Pds. Still only says one word at a time. She has verbal and motor Apraxia more on the severe side of the scale I would say. I just started her on 1 capsule of EPA today. Do you give more than that and if so how much along with the Pro EFA? I'm encouraged to hear that some of you are giving bigger doses of EFA's than I had thought. Maybe that will be the key with my Gracie to up the dosage and see how much she will tolerate vrz. how much it takes to see an improvement. I have been scared to give her more, worried that I might start to see side effects like diareah. Still only getting one word from her is so frustrating along with her other issues. Also, I have read post about Carnosine and wondered whether you had used that? Thanks, Joni > > > > Please I will like to know the dosage on Efas for 6yrs, 7 and 8. I wonder why he thinks that. , do you know if it's kind of common to give fish oils for ADHD? (At least as common as for apraxia) > > Dakota my now 11 year old diagnosed a few times now for many years > as ADHD son is on a one to one ratio of ProEFA to ProEPA and he HAS > to take ten capsules a day (five of each) or everyone knows if he > forgets to! Guest guest
We are giving 2 EFA and 1 EPA per dose. Have not tried carnosine, but have considered it. Wanted to see the omega 3 effects first - otherswise too many changes and you don't know what's doing what. We are seeing a metabolic specialist next month and hoping to do a work-up for a possible fatty acid metabolic disorder, but was going to ask him about carnosine and other supplements. At some point this year we will try it. - [ ] Re: EFA questions Hi , WOW! 9 capsules in one day???
