Guest guest
I don't freeze meals, but something that might work for the first couple of days would be a couple of " salad " type meals, adding a prefrozen meat. The one food I do ahead, to have on hand, is turkey breast. After roasting, I cut it up and freeze it and pull it out as needed, and it goes nicely in keto fresh veggie salads. Might this work for a couple of meals? We have not travelled since starting this diet and I am anxious to give it a try. Just got blessed with a new car! :-) It sure takes some planning! Best wishes, as you prepare! Blessing... , mumma to dear , keto kid since May 04 Barbara Swoyer bswoyer@...> wrote: Hi all, Am taking Jake away for 5 days next weekend. Would like to prepare and freeze as many meals ahead of time as I can, to save the daily weighing, weighing, weighing......he eats 4 meals/day. Anyway, I have gotten the system down for one breakfast meal and another lunch meal in casserole form - meat, eggs, cream, oil, cheese and veggie and nuts....but haven't actually frozen it yet. On my list to try for this week. Does anyone else have any creative suggestions for meals that travel and freeze well? Or suggestions on what freezes best aned how to reheat and serve so it's not mushy, watery, etc? Thanks, Barb Swoyer, Jake's mom
Guest guest
Hi Barb, Hello! Email me directly or call me if you still have my number. I spent a week in Disney in June, remember? We have the same keto team so I'm sure our recipes are pretty much the same. I freezed everything and we carried it on a plane in a cooler packed by a fish market. It worked out great. I made egg casseroles that had sausage, ham or cheese in it. I also made ice creams for snacks (1/2 meals). I brought the scale and measured the fruit so sometimes he'd have the casserole dish with fresh fruit and his " shake " (cream). I spent hours cooking, but it was sooooo worth it and made the vacation so much easier! It's very " do-able " Emma ('s mom)
