I use Hempseed flour and that is gluten free. Hemp flour is cheap compare to

other flours we use. I put some in the bread I make makes the bread brown

and a nutty taste . I don¹t think you can make bread with only hemp flour I

don¹t think it will taste good . High inprotein 41%.

yeah, they should be -- I don't see how they would contain gluten.

Hi,

I've been reading with interest in regards to Hemp Seeds and Hemp Flour. Isn't this Marijuana seeds and flour? I'm concerned that someone might use this flour and give the baked goods to their children without realizing what it is, thinking if it's sold as a flour that it might be okay.

My dictionary states: Hemp-narcotic drug made from the Hemp plant.

Marijuana-Dried leaves of Hemp, smoked as a drug.

When I first read that someone was using this as a flour, I thought that it sounded good as a new flour. Then I started putting 2 and 2 together and decided to check it out. I know some people like to smoke Marijuana, but if other people don't make the connection, I'm afraid children might be harmed.

I remember hearing stories about people putting Marijuana in brownies, whether this is a myth or not, I don't know. I would think, "Can't they tell there are leaves in the brownies!!" Now perhaps this is the way it would be done! Don't know, but I would really like to know other people's thoughts about this.

The hemp which is eaten is a different variety from the hemp which is

smoked. And one doesn't smoke the seeds--one smokes the leaves. ;)

Brownies are made by simmering leaves in butter or oil, then

straining and using the fat in the brownies.

There's no THC content in the hemp sold as foodstuff.

I know way too much about hemp for someone allergic to it.

Hemp flour and seeds do not have the THC in them, which is the drug. You will not get high from eating things with hemp. However, while on the subject, I did find some new tortillas at the Wild Oats made from hemp. They have 10 grams of protein and 8 grams of fiber, plus all the omega fatty acids. I haven't tried them yet, but I will let you know if they are any good. They were pretty cheep too.

Also tomatoes are related to hemp as well. One year they were giving away hemp plants at the fair for trying to get marijuana legalized and I was confused but the supposed marijuana plants they were giving away were only tomato plants!

No WO stores around here, but do you have a brand name? Also, what's the

consistency - are they pliable like flour tortillas or slightly fragile

like corn?

Commercial hemp and marijuana are not the same thing. Commercial hemp

does not have thc. also it really would not matter which plant as it

is not the seeds that cause you to get high you could eat them all

day and it would do nothing. It is the dried leaves and buds that are

coated with thc that cause you to get high. Yes some people do put it

in brownies but there would not be whole leaves they grind up the

leaves and buds. No one is harmed by hemp flour and seeds unless they

are allergic.

HAHAHA, me too. I don't think I am allergic to it though!

I used to sell beauty products with it in it...natural stuff...hemp is VERY good for the skin! Hemp seed oil is amazing. (no THC in that either...) Cannibis is the marijuana that has the THC...there is numerous varieties of hemp...

Hemp is used for a huge variety of things, such as building houses!

If I remember correctly, Washington used it to build with. I believe he used to grow it and wanted the nation to crop it....again, I could be way off on this, as my memory isn't the greatest these days!
