Guest guest
I swear, I've never had so many " comp'd " restaurant meals in the first 40-something (mumble, mumble, women & age, mumble) years of my life as I have had in the last 10 GF months! Today, again, another scr**ed up meal. Another comp'd meal. Harrumph. I'd rather they just get it right the first time than give it to me free. I'd rather not sit there watching my ravenous family eat while I remain ravenous, just because the restaurant goofed. Today was a new twist. Waitress familiar with gluten-free. No problems ordering gluten-free. Waitress didn't have enough hands to bring entire meal to table. Waitress asked another waitress for help. Second waitress grabbed my meal, started to bring it to the table. Second waitress realized the kitchen forgot my bread stick. Second waitress went back to kitchen and put a bread stick atop my meal. Second waitress brought meal to the table. First waitress grabbed bread stick off meal. I gasped audibly. I said " Sorry. The whole meal will have to go back and be made again. " It's been a hard day. I was ravenous. The family was served. The breadstick and ruined meal were the last straws. I cried. There, I've confessed it for the whole world to see. A waitress's bringing me a gratuitous poison stick made me cry. I'd rather pay for the meal than get it free and have to eat when the rest of the family is DONE eating. Esther, who really TRIES to NOT be a Pain in the neck restaurant patron. Honest to heaven. I try to avoid being a pain. They might as well have sprinkled arsenic on the plate.
