Guest guest
Well not as Monk, no he's not hot. But as the taxi driver in Wings he was cute. And in some of his other stuff he's been cute too. Then again, Tony Shalhoub is arab-american and my husband is Lebanese descent so I guess maybe I'm a tad biased? Did whatshisname ... did he play EDGAR????? OMG! Debbie with twins Re: law and order- criminal intent > Of course, my opinion of him is coloured by the fact the first film I saw him in was 'Men in Black'. That image has stuck with me for YEARS. < hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!! yeah well, what about tony shalhoub? not that i think he's hot, but still " Something important to remember...we'll always be who we are. Guest guest
I'm sorry they made it be him who committed the killing, but I knew he was aspie from the first scene with him. I don't think they needed to do the walk like he had though. I also loved the older geekier brother line! I hadn't thought about Goran being one before. I just looked at him as being very into psychology and that was why he had some of the mannerisms he has...you know, trying to psych the other guy out? After watching this episode though, his hand movements, understanding the other guys patterns, I can see it more now. I still wonder about whether or not he is supposed to be though since he read the description out of a book. It wasn't like he really seemed to know about it before then. It does give you a really scarey feeling of what could happen to our kids if they aren't educated about themselves...... Guest guest
<<i think that was for effect. if he didn't know what aspergers was, how would he know that's what the guy had?>>> That makes the most sense. It's all about how he presents himself. It's almost like he doesn't understand how to pshy someone out, he seems more intrested in the reactions of the criminals. Take him moving his chair within inches of someone, they never seem to mind. I mean if someone was that close to me my butt would ask him what the hell is wrong with him. These people just sit there. It's odd to me. " Something important to remember...we'll always be who we are. " - Mr.

Or perhaps, he searched the things that the guy displayed, the eye contact, pedantic speech, odd gate, etc., and it came up with the aspergers name so he looked it up? He's an Aspie hands down, I just know it. > I'm sure you're right. It never occured to me before this thread, and I missed last night's episode, but when I think about it...he knows people SO WELL -- not through intuition, but because he studies people, and always has. He completely understands the human race without actually seeming to take part in it. Jacquie
Guest guest
> The other guy has a lot of empathy for an Aspie. IS it empathy? Or is it application of vast knowledge? I've not ever thought he was empathetic; rather, I've thought he uses keen insight based on his understanding of the way people work in order to know just when to 'launch' at them as he is wont to do.
