Guest guest
We're having trouble with the kids computer. Internet Explorer won't come up. It shows up for a fraction of a second and goes away. Sometimes a message shows up, but again is gone so fast you can't read it. How can I get on line to re down load it? Guest guest
My hubby is a puter geek. This is what he says: I am assuming you have 2 computers. If so, you can do a serial network connection. Take a serial cord and place it on the back on your computer in the serial port and connect it to the kids puter in the serial port. Then use windows network neighborhood to find the serial connection to create a network. Once you do that, download the zipped file you want and then copy that on to the kids computer to install. Also, check the settings on explorer, might be set to hide mode. left click on explorer, click on properties and then you should see the box marked hide. if it is checked, uncheck it. Hope that helps, Leigh > We're having trouble with the kids computer. Internet Explorer won't come > up. It shows up for a fraction of a second and goes away. Guest guest
I'm having the same problem, Sue. It comes up for a second, then I get an 'illegal operation' message and it goes down. I purged it and re-loaded it, no difference. I'm using an older version of MSN explorer now. I called Dell Tech support but they haven't gotten back to me. If you want to try reloading, the address is: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.asp Tuna >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> We're having trouble with the kids computer. Internet Explorer won't come up. Guest guest
Couple of ways, go to HYPERLINK " http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/critical/ie6sp1/default.a sp " http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/critical/ie6sp1/default ..asp and get it again, but first try: Start>Settings>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs click on IE and see if you can repair it. debbi --- Enter to win 6 free Disney DVD's HYPERLINK " http://tinyurl.com/3ztv " http://tinyurl.com/3ztv OT-Need computer help We're having trouble with the kids computer. Guest guest
The question is, how do I get the address entered if I don't have a browser in the first place? Guest guest
Well, I'm already technically hooked to the kids computer because we're running on DSL from mine. The rest, I'm not sure really how to do, but I hadn't thought about checking by right clicking it. I'll try that now. Sue Re: OT-Need computer help > My hubby is a puter geek.
