Guest guest
I have no idea what you're asking, but it should be an ALT, not a ALT.. Also it should be Chem 7. Jan jantranscribes@... Guest guest
Lysa, No, but they might be wanting to check the liver functions since the patient is on Celebrex. I know they have to check liver functions with some arthritis medications, just not sure if Celebrex is one of them, but maybe that's why. Guest guest
The tests are cardiac enzyme tests, so I don't think they are specifically for arthritis. I usually hear those tests listed in cardiac patients. Jan jantranscribes@... " Typing is my life. " " Whoever signs the paycheck makes the rules. Guest guest
Sylvia, Believe it or not, the SEMD says that they are used to check for liver problems and for myocardial infarction. I said something to Jan privately and she told me about the SEMD, so I checked it and she is right. When you get yours, look at ALT written out, not as the abbreviation, and you will see at the end that it specifically mentions myocardial infarction. Seemed strange to me, but that's where Jan got it. Just thought I would write one last time. I can't remember if I still owe you any e-mails regarding any questions, but if so, I'll answer when I get back. I'll be back to work on 7/6. Hope you have a great 4th. Margaret >>> gentlsong@... 06/25/03 03:54PM >>> Hi Margaret! (private reply) Still here today I see. Are you going to get your hours in? Hope so! Just wanted to say that you're right...these are liver tests. Not quite sure where Jan got cardiac enzymes. FYI, ALT and AST are synonyms or newer (I think) names for SGOT and SGPT. Or...it may just depend on which analyzer you're using as to which names come up. And I just checked rxlist which says anyone with known liver problems or an elevated liver test should definitely have these monitored while on Celebrex. Hope your reunion goes well. I'll be thinking about you. Sylvia > Lysa, No, but they might be wanting to check the liver functions > since the patient is on Celebrex.
