Guest guest
I'd like to thank you all again for the info on the wheat and communion...I printed out everything and had 's and Kathleen's and all others....They are making this into some huge " problem " !!!!! AHHH I had all of the paperwork with me....had the info on the mustum,.....which is valid...even had where to get it....had the info on the 0.01 Percent low gluten host and where to get that....and that is also valid....I asked if my class could line up first as then the mom knows what pew we will be in, etc...the one " leader " says that she can drink the wine as the host in not dipped in the wine (intinction?) but the priest does crumble the host over it and the host is alcohol soluble so wheat will be in the wine....I really don't know the exact correct terminology...so she can only drink from a second (different) cup of wine....consequently, if the mother agrees she will be the last girl to make communion...their reasoning was that if she was in the first pew as i had suggested that it would confuse all of those behind her....all I'd have to do is explain that to my class that she cannot have the host and instead the wine is substituted but the rest of you will continue to do was what we practiced....not to hard for kids to understand...they don't give them enough credit! I had the paperwork with me and when pointing out the highlighted areas (thanks to your info that you all sent) the " leader " said we take our directives from the bishop....so I suppose she thought I typed this out from some fictional book....!!!!!!! ...and after our little conversation which was suppose to make me feel like I was 5 yrs old--which I did--her older sister came to pick her up and was told that she was supposed to get back to them 2 weeks ago.....as to what she decided...I was also told that if they had known beforehand the whole family could have made communion at the Sunday Liturgy and it would have not been a big deal.....I think it certainly would have been as she would not have been included on their special day....so again thank you for letting me vent!!!!!!! kathy nj
