Guest guest
...another wonderful (sarcastic)teacher...taking into account the kids' and parents and other kids' feelings and reactions....and not even asking you if it was alright?????? When my twins were in pre-school hand, the PT did request that I put them in high tops or those high top hiking boots as they walked on their toes at times...she wanted me to put laces from the top (nearest to the toe end) and then tie them at the ankle. Then put another pair from the ankle up to the top (closer to their shin)..can't think of another way to put it. This way it was tight and the PT felt that they would not like the feel or it would make it harder to get up on their toes. When they got to school the PT would make tie them even tighter.Needless to say after a few days of that, mysteriously each twin lost a shoe....they simply vanished..and we do not live in a mansion where they could have wound up in some faraway closet...I'm thinking it was a joint effort in that they both met at the garbage can and decided to throw them away!!! It was not funny at the time, but 4 year later I can smile about it....and yes, I do see them up on their toes at times and I remind them to " walk flat " as the PTs suggested. If only they were girls,(or wanted to take ballet lessons) I would have enrolled them in ballet...they wouldn't have been able to pronounce the dance steps/terms (can you tell I never took Ballet) but they sure would have been the highest on their toes.... ...........gotta laugh sometimes to get through the day........kathy NJ
