Guest guest
Hi Pam! I don't know if this is what you are needing, but in my Drug Index in the abbreviation section they had MIC for minimum inhibitory concentration. I also searched to try to find out what this meant, but didn't understand very well. In the Stedman's Abbrev. they also have for MIC minimal isorrheic concentration. I found these two definitions that may help in some way. minimal inhibitory concentration, (MIC) the lowest concentration of a given antibiotic that inhibits the growth of a specific organism. minimal isorrheic concentration, (MIC) the lower limit of urinary concentration at which a steady state consistent with effective physiologic regulation of solute and water balances can be maintained. I have no idea if this has ANYTHING to do with your " mikes " but here it is. I thought that maybe they were giving your patient the antibiotic one. Talk about a wild guess huh. Best of luck to ya! Guest guest
Hi Deb, I went ahead and left it blank. I'm not sure what he was trying to say, it could have been a slang term for " mg " . I'll find out tomorrow. Thanks for the help though : ) Pamela M-TEC Grad (made it through my first day of work!) Whew Dosage question > > > > Cardiac Catheterization procedure. Guest guest
Pamela, You would be correct in thinking that mikes is slang for mcg. Docs will also say migs for mg and even kigs for kg. Guest guest
Thanks Margaret. I was 99% sure that was what it was, but I didn't want to guess since I never heard it before.
