Thanks again to everyone who offered suggestions. Since we were able to include

several accommodations/modifications for , I did not pursue the aide

issue. But if I see that these things are not being done and that is

still struggling...then I will revisit the idea.

The IEP went well. We reviewed the results of her triennial testing. The SLP

reports that has gained almost two years in most areas of her language

skills since last year. Very good news! Then we heard from the Social Worker.

will now receive twenty minutes of social skills work each week. I am

grateful for this and think it will help with some of the issues that we face.

Then we heard from the school psychologist. Some of you may remember that I

was having trouble getting them to do the triennial testing in the beginning.

One of the reasons that I pushed to get it done was for this testing. I've

always knew what was capable of, but it seems that not everyone at the

school believed it. I have to say that listening to the results being read and

watching the expressions on everyone's face was absolutely priceless!

Apparently they didn't think she had that much ability. Her verbal IQ was

listed in the average range. I was pretty

impressed with that as I had expected it to be lower. I have to say that I was

" very " pleased with her non-verbal. I know that she can do anything that she

wants to. I'm hoping that the school will now see that too.

Her HI has almost doubled her minutes for next year, going from 90 minutes to

150 minutes. I think this will be a big benefit for . They will also do

all testing outside of the class with the HI. We also are getting ESY speech

services.

All in all, I think it went very well. We are still looking into the ADD

thing and should have those results this summer.
