Guest guest
Hi Robin - both my boys wore hearing aids for 10 years and neither have protruding ears. Both are quite handsome I think! :-) Barbara Robin Tomlinson wrote: > Do BTE's cause a child's ears to protrude eventually? Also, do your > children with BTE's complain of headaches? Guest guest
" Do BTE's cause a child's ears to protrude eventually? Also, do your children with BTE's complain of headaches? " These were two of my concerns, as my daughter obtained her first pair of HA (BTEs) at 6 weeks old. Also, early on I read that many HOH/D often complained of headaches. We ultimately choose to use soft material ITEs, which have worked wonderfully well for our daughter (now 2 years). Best,
Guest guest
Oh - I meant to also say that my kids don't complain of headaches either with their BTEs. They've worked well for them. Guest guest
's ears don't protrude and she's been wearing them for 4 years (Gosh has it been that long?). She doesn't complain of headaches. I know well the types of headaches you describe. I've only been able to wear two headbands in my entire life, all of the rest of them gave me awful headaches. I wear glasses, but I have to have the glasses positioned to rest on my ears and not press into my head. 's BTE's rest on the top of her ears, so I don't think that they cause the pressure problem...unless she's laying on her side. I have pressure-point headaches and cannot wear sunglasses for a long time, and when I had long hair I could never wear headbands or barrettes very long. RT in NC Some men see things as they are and ask why. Others dream things that never were and ask why not.
