Hi Robin - both my boys wore hearing aids for 10 years and neither have

protruding ears. Both are quite handsome I think! :-)

" Do BTE's cause a child's ears to protrude

eventually? Also, do your children with BTE's complain of headaches? "

These were two of my concerns, as my daughter obtained her first pair

of HA (BTEs) at 6 weeks old. Also, early on I read that many HOH/D

often complained of headaches. We ultimately choose to use soft

material ITEs, which have worked wonderfully well for our daughter

(now 2 years).

Best,

Oh - I meant to also say that my kids don't complain of headaches either

with their BTEs. They've worked well for them.

's ears don't protrude and she's been wearing them for 4 years (Gosh has

it been that long?). She doesn't complain of headaches. I know well the types

of headaches you describe. I've only been able to wear two headbands in my

entire life, all of the rest of them gave me awful headaches. I wear glasses,

but I have to have the glasses positioned to rest on my ears and not press into

my head. 's BTE's rest on the top of her ears, so I don't think that they

cause the pressure problem...unless she's laying on her side.
