Guest guest
Hi Gail...thanks for the help. So many nice people here and I do need the help for sure! Today was the first day she was in moderate ketones. I have been better in the passed few days than ever, so I don't get it?? So, now it's the weekend, and I don't have my dietitian to get us back on track and be really strict. Do you have any suggestions? Or does anyone out there? I have to wait until Monday or just take out all or most of the carbs? I hate this diet so much and I know they say it gets better, but she fights me on everything. Just when I think it gets tolerable and I find something that will take place of the fats, she rejects it. It's so frustrating! It's like in her mind she's getting penalized for having seizures! I know that's not the truth, but I can tell her over and over this is to help and so we don't have to take meds anymore and makes us feel better, but I get nothing from her. She just looks away like I'm not saying anything. She's a completely functioning 5 (almost 6) year old girl with some delays in learning because of the seizures, but other than that, she sure knows how to do everything else. So, does she understand or does she just want to ignore this? I guess that's a question for the Doc, right? So...in all, I want to give this the time and energy to make this work if it can and I think this would help. So, I think it works only when she's in high ketosis. (at least at this point) Can anyone help me through the weekend in some meals that this picky eater will eat w/o creams? I would greatly appreciate it! thanks! Guest guest
Are you using a meal planner? If not, what meal plans do you have to work with? I'm sure we can come up with some plans for you! I made a great aubergine pancake tonight. It was just aubergine/eggplant, egg, macadamia nuts, garlic, flax seed and coconut oil. I fried the aubergine and garlic in the coconut oil, ground the nuts, then added everything into the mini blender with some salt and pepper until it was smooth (ish), then fried it in a little more coconut oil until it was brown. It was really tasty. I served it with some salad and followed it with jelly. , Mum to Francesca, Keto Kid since Sept 03 > >Hi there. Just saw your post.
