Could you try putting it in something that would mask it better "

Maybe in some chocolate pudding, Carnation Instant Breakfast, or

chocolate milk?

My son will eat the Vit. E softgel (Carlson's Natural E Gems Elite).

But I think I'm probably in the lucky minority.

I give it to my child in an oral syringe. He won't take it in food

but he is a resistent eater. I stand behind or sit behind him and

squeeze the oils in his mouth towards his back inner cheek and have

a paper towel handy (Viva are the softest) and that's how he takes

his. It took a month before he would take it and not vomit or gag or

spit most of it out!

I hope one day when he is older (he's 40mos now) that he'll take it

on a spoon or else chew it up or swallow it. If your child takes it

without a fight caount your blessings!!

How do you feel about bribes?

I squeeze 10 EFAs and 2 Vitamin Es into a small cup, add a little

white grape juice, and let my two daughters " race " with straws to

finish the mixture. It has to be so disgusting, but they drink it

super fast every time and ask for it each night as their " special

drink " . When they are done, they each get a Viactiv soft

chew " candy " (or if we're out real candy).

This system has never failed for me - before that we did yogurt,

mandarin oranges and applesauce, and all would be eaten sometimes

but not consistently. One thing that NEVER worked was trying to

sneak it into a drink.

I'm sure that someone's suggestions will work for you!

My advice is to hang in there. Mine did not love it at first, but I

insisted he take them, and now he does like them! I squeeze the 3

fish oil capsules and 1 E into a little container and then add 1 ts

of Natrol complete liquid vits. I give it to him using a medicine

dropper (I like the ones from Walgreens, EZ dose I think?) then I

mix in some juice to get the last of the oil and give him that. POM

works well (and sometimes I mix the oils with just juice). Stick

with it for a while; it might be an acquired taste.

By the way, my friend gives her kids the Omega 3 6 9 juniors and

they just chew them. They like the way they squirt in their mouths

and call them " squishy vitamins. " I buy the adult version of Omega

3 6 9 because it's more economical, but if you find your kids will

take the juniors because they think its more fun, might be worth it.

Re: getting these vitamins into the kids, I just wanted to say that I'd

checked with someone about heating the ProEfa, such as in pancake mix, and

although I cannot remember if it was someone on this list or I called a store

who

would know, I was told that heating it can cause it to not work or not work as

well, that it somehow damages the fish oils.

If the " vitamins " you're referring to are the fish oils, E, I will just add

that I found something my grandson will drink with all of it mixed in. I

ordinarily wouldn't give him this because I would rather he drink milk or water,

but it's worth it if it gets these oils in him. It's the V-8 Splash

Smoothies. He drinks the strawberry/banana and has had the berry flavor. I

think

there are about 4 flavors. It's supposed to be fruit juices with 35% less

sugar than _________ what I don't know. The oils don't mix in really, but I

shake it up (in a sippy cup) and he drinks it up quick. I'm sure some of the

oils are left a bit in the cup, however, I decided it wasn't worth stressing

about it, that most of it's getting in him, which is better than none.

Good luck. Karyn

I just wanted to add re: the V-8 Splash Smoothies that I explained

earlier in a post, I checked the ingredients and there is soy protein

in them, so for the kids that cannot have soy products, I just thought

I should let you know.
