Several of our children go into public school. Some go right into regular kindergarten. Some go in regular kindergarten w/ special ed & speech services. Some go into a special ed classroom within the district and mainstream into the regular classroom for activities. It all depends on several factors: How old the child is when he/she first comes into our program (2yrs old or 4yrs old, there's a big difference) How neurologically impaired the child is (it's a spectrum, some children are more impaired than others) How much family involvement/carry-over into the home. (ABA is not from 9:00-2:30, it's a life style change. What programs/support services the school districts have to offer. (Many districts have good programs in place, many have nothing, so the child stays w/ us) Some children stay for a year or two because they were not quite ready, then they go to their district). We have about 15-20 children going into their districts this year. I would have to look @ the list for the exact number. marie Dalfonso, M.S.Ed.
