Guest guest
Robin I read your email and my jaw falls to the floor. I have had mysterious chronic hives off and on in my life for no reason at all. They typically lats for a few months up to 9 month. They usually start out slow, 1 or 2 hives and each night they get worse and worse.... in time, my whole body is covered with them. My lip swells and my eyes are swollen closed, Everywhere is swollen with hives and when it gets on my feet, it burns so bad. When it gets to that point it lasts for a while and then it will go back the other way. Slowly, day by day they get better and better and better till they are gone. Does this sound like what you had? And you said that the Doctors said that this is what caused or could have caused your child's hearing loss? How did you find out about the strep? I have never had it as far as I know. I need to call my grandparents and ask him. I need to ask my husband about this too, if he can help me put together a time line. I am very interested in hearing from you regarding this. Even if not to help answer why my son has a hearing loss but to make sure I don't get those hives again! They are painful. Thank you for this post and I look forward to hearing from you. Guest guest
No, this did not cause hearing loss. I had those hives during my first pregnancy. Our son is not hearing impaired. Sorry for the confusion. I was just throwing out this information to a lady whose child gets hives for some reasons. You most probably have hives because you are allergic to something. I just happened to get them out of nowhere because I had strep in me. I would start feeling creepy crawly on my legs, and I thought my pantyhose were making me itch. Before I knew it, they had traveled my whole body. Very uncomfortable! It happened once on my way driving to school, once at school during the day while I was teaching . . . and once at my home. Three times in two days. Robin > > Robin > > I read your email and my jaw falls to the floor. I have had mysterious > chronic hives off and on in my life for no reason at all. Guest guest
Cora - I was just asking if anybody whose kids have an implant also have hives...trying to find if there is a link btw Hayley's CI and her hives. I don't know of any link btw hives and hearing loss. You can try controlling your hives when you have a breakout by claritin and zantac - although a doctor should probably prescribe it, not me . There is also a listserve on yahoo for sufferers. > > Robin > > I read your email and my jaw falls to the floor. I have had mysterious chronic hives off and on in my life for no reason at all.
