Hi to all!

This is my second post since my initial introduction.

I see a lot of posts that help with dictation but my question is

regarding getting my first job this summer after graduation.

I am really nervous about what to put on my resume as far as not

having enough information to put on it in this field. I won't have

any experience to put on it and I will be looking for a job in about

a couple of months and have started putting my resume together. And I

was just wandering if anyone has any helpful suggestions or things

they did that helped them " get their foot in the door " so to speak.

Because I really enjoy transcription and wish to work from hope and I

am a bit nervous wandering if I will actually find something working

at home right off. I have heard it can be done and I know this would

be a great place to ask this question being there are experts

transcriptionist who answer students questions about these things.

Any helpful information would be appreciated.

Thanks to all!

Morning Patty!

I am not overally skilled in resume writing but I have a few pointers

that were given to me, and I haven't been in the work force for 15

years so it was like starting over for me, but anyway try a few of

these:

1. Make it as short as possible. If its too long and wordy

employers will pass it over. You need to get their attention right

off the bat.

2. Go with a basic resume that highlights the skills you have not

your work history.

3. Include any research material or equipment you might already own

(an investment they won't have to supply to you, always a plus).

4. And again, keep it short.

There are a couple of resume writing websites to get additional

pointers from, just put " Resumes " in a search engine and start

reading.

Good luck and keep us updated on your job search, we've all been

there.

I was looking at MT stuff on EBAY and someone had a resume for sale

specifically for MTs. It was set up like a History & Physical short of. I

thought it

was kind of cute but you may think it's corny. It was $4.99. Just a thought.

These are excellent pointers, Kathy! I would add to state your objective,

especially in terms of IC, statutory employee, or employee and full time/part

time. This will help the person reviewing the resumes tremendously.

I bought it. I would never use it. I wasted 4.99. It's a bit too presumptuous

for me. I'm afraid these country doctors where I am would toss it when they

saw it.

I wouldn't buy it because I've heard so many MTSO's dissin' it! For the most

part, they hate the idea. *g*
