Guest guest
Hi all, We just came home from a long SLP eval, likely Apraxia diagnosis (thankfully I am getting more informed on that every day - from this listserv, the Late Talker book and the CHERAB page, etc.) We are looking at 2 ST sessions a week from a private source and hopefully 2 from our EI program. So, what is my question? How is everyone that seeks private services handling the financial part (above and beyond insurance). Do you pay cash and then deduct off taxes at the end of the year - but then only get a % back? Do you use a flex spending account? What about a healthcare spending account vs reg insurance? How much do you spend in an average year on therapy? (And I know $$ is a taboo topic to talk about openly - but I am a sleep deprived momma....social graces be damned) I need actual figures here. We are looking at whether I need to go back to work or not and need to crunch some numbers. This is shaping up to be a costly adventure and I wouldn't buy a car without researching the financing options.....let alone my son's therapy and future voice. Mil Gracias (Thousand Thanks) for any insight. Martha McCabe momma to Will 2.5 & Isabelle 2mo
