Guest guest
Hi and All, I have had Jackie (3 years, suspected apraxia, no official diagnosis) on vitamin e for about 2 weeks. I have definately seen a response from it. Some positive and some negative. First and foremost her running and jumping have improved dramatically. Clarity in speech, also improved, but I havent gotten the " WOW SURGE " . Her sentence length is up to 4 words (sometimes, but not consistant). One BIG WOW WAS, she is unable to put certain sounds at the beginning of words like sh, f, and v. For example " show " would be pronounced Osh. Kinda backwards. Yesterday she woke up in the morning, and I had the news on and she said clear as day " Mommy, I watch MY SHOW " ! (OK, SO I GUESS I DID HAVE A BIT OF A WOW). We have been working on this for months! She also said shoe, instead of oosh. Negatives: Behavioral, she has been very defiant and fresh. Aggressive behavior, hitting her brothers and sisters, more emotional, and defiant. Not my typical Jackie. She had the same reaction when I started her on fish oil, and again when I upped her doses. It lasted each time about a week or 2, so I am assuming it will subside. If not, and I continue to see improvement in speech, tone, and coordination, I will just deal with the behavior issues. Ok, I just wanted to give my update. I will be taking her for a well visit next month and want to have her tested for vitamin deficincies. I wish I had done this prior to the supplements. I am trying to search the files and see what you deficiencies i should test for, but like everyone else around here, i cant find it! L-Carnitine, A, D, K and E? Ok, thanks a million again, this site has been my lifeline. It has helped me find Jackies voice, and I am forever grateful... Trish
