Guest guest
Hi Melinda, I was wondering how many people in this forum have tried Estrace and/or emu oil and the results whether good or bad. I called my drs office about the estrace and am still awaiting their call. I have purchased the emu oil and haven't tried it yet. My physical therapist said to just keep using olive oil. She said there may be additives in it but it says it is 100% pure. Any replies would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Debbie > > Hello, > > Not to be totally confusing, but my name is Melinda as well. Guest guest
Hi Debbie: I have been using estrace cream with calendula cream as described at http://www.vulvodynia-treatment.com/quick-start-kit.html . I have found this to give me great relief. I only apply a small amount w/ the calendula cream (3to1 ratio) . When I called my doc for a scrip for estrace I did get a little flack "Thats for dryness' a nurse told me. I told her I want to try it anyway for my constant pain. They gave in and gave me a scrip. It comes with an applicator to insert vaginally but like I said I only apply it topically to the vulva area w/ the calendula cream. it really has helped me. i hope this helps! Guest guest
Debbie, Some have their estradiol compounded in Emu Oil! ;-) I believe when you do - it increases the effectiveness of the med, from what I've read. Like it's absorbed better.I saw Libby , a vulvar specialist, down in NC last yr. and she told me that using estrogen topically does help 'some' vulvar pain patients. If you have too, find info on the group, print it out and take it to your doc. Don't ask...tell him/her that you want to try it. The oils can be good for lubrication, but again, they will not restore the tissue itself, if it is indeed lacking in estrogen. ;-) Hang in there...ChelleI was wondering how many people in this forum have tried Estrace and/or emu oil and the results whether good or bad.
