Guest guest
I have a question about the diet. It's so hard sticking to a low sodium diet. I feel like I deserve a one-meal-per-week-get-out-of-jail-card, especially if I've spent the rest of the week counting milligrams of sodium. I was just wondering how sensitive your body is to sodium, lets say if you have a high sodium meal once or twice a week. does it show up in your blood pressure? or swelling? or labs? Also has anyone's nephrologist put them on a medium protein diet? Like not too much and not too little. About 1mg/kg of lean body weight? My neph has also put me on fluid restriction... about 1 liter of water/day. Not easy to follow, especially since I sweat a lot! Is this normal? I don't have any swelling and my bp's have been consistently normal in the 100s-110s/60s-70s. Is this even necessary? Oh yeah, and since I'm on the high dose prednisone, I'm predisposed to becoming diabetic.. so I have to watch my carbs and simple sugars. Which also leaves me asking... what exactly is out there that i'm allowed to put in my mouth?!?!?!?! Cardboard? Grass? slightly frustrated...
