Hi group.

I had a Total Thyroidectomy in Dec 2001 with a successful ablation

and two clean scans. I am taking (2) 112mcg (.224 total) of

Synthroid in the AM when I awaken and feel good. My tsh level is .09

My problem is that I unable to successful convey to my endo (and I

have been through two of them) that the inability to lose weight

since my TT is not right.

I never had a weight problem until the surgery and now I have quite

a problem. Let me explain what I have done and maybe someone can

give me some friendly advice or even relate to my problem.

I enagage in 30-40 minutes of cardiovascular exercise in the form of

jogging or some other machine at the gym. For the past 2-3 weeks I

have followed the Slimfast program by eating abour 900-1000 calories

per day. Initially during the 1st week of the program I lost 6

pounds of which I assume is just water weight. The following week I

gained two pounds. This is now my third week and I have

unsuccessfully lost the 2 pound weight gain.

I have in the past attempted to watch my eating by cutting fats and

the junk but that did not work and all my doctors kept saying for me

to eat less. At that time I was eating about 1800-2000 cals per

day. Now that I am eating less than 1200 cals and most times I am

right around 1000cals I am experiencing the same results or lack

thereof.

If anyone has observed the same issues please feel free to let me

know.

Thanks for all your time.
