Guest guest
Good morning to all: I am new to this list. I have been an MT IC for 7+ years, and worked/apprenticed in an outpatient medical oncology clinic before that. Currently I work the old fashioned way, I pick up cassettes and drop off finished reports. I think I would like to make the jump to digital, and one of my docs is willing to give it a try. My question to you all is: which is a reputable company for purchasing a wav pedal/software, digital recorder, etc package? I've been browsing Medword, Quikscribe, and Start Stop so far. Thanks for any thoughts/opinions on this. Heidi _________________ Heidi in New York http://www.picturetrail.com/hnick

Guest guest
Hi Heidi, I am one of the few that still do it the old way too, but I get the tapes from my boss. But regarding the digital issue you have, I suggest that you contact Martel Electronics 1-. I rely on them for my transcribers and when I do go digital, I would feel confident to rely them for that also. They also have call-in systems too. I think that it always more helpful when you can talk to a person rather just a website. I hope that this helps. > >Reply-To: NMTC >To: <nmtc > >Subject: going digital >Date: Tue, 3 Jun 2003 06:00:14 -0400 > >Good morning to all: > >I am new to this list. Guest guest
I finally decided to go with the WAVpedal at dictran.com because 1) it plays the most formats of sound files and 2) they offered a package which INCLUDED my choice of digital recorder which I could let the new docs " borrow " so they can trial a digital voice recorder without having to buy one upfront. suzanneMI >My question to you all is: >which is a reputable company for purchasing >a wav pedal/software, digital recorder, etc package? >I've been browsing Medword, Quikscribe, and Start Stop >so far. Guest guest
That's exactly what I was thinking about doing, let them test out the system for a bit, then let them purchase the recorder from me. How did it work out for you? which INCLUDED my choice of digital recorder which I could let the new docs " borrow " so they can trial a digital voice recorder without having to buy one upfront. suzanneMI >My question to you all is: >which is a reputable company for purchasing >a wav pedal/software, digital recorder, etc package? >I've been browsing Medword, Quikscribe, and Start Stop >so far. Guest guest
I am still in the process of locating local accounts for digital service. Actually, I plan to KEEP the recorder and let them buy their own as they may want to pay more (or less, as the case may be) for their own. I decided on the DS-3000 pedal/recorder package deal. Pretty spiffy. >That's exactly what I was thinking about doing, >let them test out the system for a bit, then >let them purchase the recorder from me. >How did it work out for you?
