Guest guest
Anyone have urinary frequency as part of their Vulvodynia? I've had urinary frequency for about a month now. It all came on after an extremely stressful day. My husband and I had a fight about my Vulvar problems, sex, etc...and since that day, I know it sounds weird, but I have the urge to pee all of the time, even after I've just been to the bathroom. My urine was cultured and all was negative. Thanks! I've posted before, but thought maybe someone else would reply.
Guest guest
, have you been checked for Interstitial Cystitis? It feels just like a urinary infection only you culture negative. I have it. It feels just like a UTI. If you have that problem a lot mention it to your doc. Ivy -- Urinary Frequency Anyone have urinary frequency as part of their Vulvodynia? Guest guest
Hi there,I was diagnosed with IC about 7 yrs. ago, I've had vulvar pain for about 17. The tissue that makes up part of the bladder and the vestibule area are the same. There have been several women to have both conditions. Tight pelvic floor muscles can create pain in the bladder. Pain does include that of frequency and urgency, because that is not normal. You know in all the years I've had bladder symptoms I've never had a urinary tract infection. Have you ever tried physical therapy? It might be worth looking into, but be forewarned, you may have to travel to find a good one. Do you have symptoms now all the time? One more thing, see if you can notice if you have a habit of 'tightening' your pelvic floor muscles in response to stress. I have done that for years and did not realize until I learned more about PT. Hang in there...and keep telling yourself right you will get better! Guest guest
i have also suffered from urinary frequency and UTI symptoms with negative cultures for longer than i have had vulvodynia (aprox 5 years) I have had 2 cystoscopies and unfortunatly no results came from either apparently my bladder looks very healthy so for 2 years i took trimethaprim daily as they said long term antibiotcs would cure the problem and while it stopped the problems while i was on it as soon as i came off it the symptoms would return. So along with the amitrip, lidocaine and calendula for vulvodynia i also have to take trimethaprim whenever having a flare and normally after intercourse which seems to keep it at bay. Guest guest
Try going on the Interstitial Cystitis diet for a few weeks/months and see if it helps. IC doesn't always show up on a cytoscopy.
