used a couple of other companies, they are so far the best, however, if you do not

fall into their financial breakdown fees they can be pricey.

ARC provides many different services for children and adults (birth to seniors)

fee scales often dictated by funders). We are very appreciative of parent

Services Council of Broward with additional support from the United Way of

Broward County. Fees are on a sliding scale based on family size and household

income ranging from $0 to $30.

Respite Care is designed to provide brief, temporary care and supervision to

children so that parents or caregivers can take a much needed break with the

confidence that their children are safe and receiving the best care by trained

professionals. Services are provided in the family homes and/or at our main

campus in Sunrise on designated out of school and weekend days. Children are

engaged in a variety of wonderful social, recreational, and fitness activities.

Staff-to-child ratios are one staff to one child in-home and one staff to one or

two children while at our campus. Respite care staff implement behavior

programs and activities, as available. Funding is provided by the Agency for

Persons with Disabilities (APD) or the Broward County Human Services Division.

Eligibility requirements vary for both funding sources. There are no fees for

children funded through APD; fees for children funded through Broward County are

based on family size and household income ranging from $0 to $4/hr.

water parks, the theater, play centers and museums. Each summer, campers are

also entertained by local celebrities including the Marlin and Miami

Heat's Bernie. Campers are provided with swimming lessons, community based

instruction and recreation, social skills training, physical fitness activities,

cultural arts and recreation activities, case management, behavioral, and

nursing services. Certified Teachers provide academic instruction in math,

science and literacy. Occupational, Speech, and Physical Therapy are available

for children if approved by their health insurance or though private payment

arrangements. Staff-to-child ratios vary and are based on child's needs. KAMP

to caregivers on the implementation of the behavior plan and then evaluate

families may receive a maximum of 25 hours of service per year. Fees are on a

sliding scale based on family size and household income ranging from $0 to

environment. We accept Medicaid, Medicaid PSNs and HMOs, Children's Medical

Services (CMS), and private pay arrangements.

Youth Links is an experiential learning program that prepares students with

disabilities ages 16 to 21 for post-secondary education, training and

employment. The program fosters independence and improves social and

employability skills and prepares youth with special needs to transition

successfully into adulthood. During the school year, students participate in a

series of learning experiences addressing career development, social skills,

life skills, self-determination, and advocacy through a combination of classroom

and real-life settings. On non-school days, students participate in field trips

to local colleges and businesses, as well as complete service learning and

volunteer experiences. During the summer, students have the chance to

participate in paid summer employment, ranging from 16-30 hours per week.

Students who do not participate in paid employment participate in

community-based learning activities such as job shadowing, job tours, mock

interviews, and volunteer work experiences. Staff to student ratios varying

during the school and summer months and while participating in internships and

employment. The program is funded by the Children's Services Council of Broward.

There are no fees.

ARC Broward operates a Community Mental Health Center which offers outpatient

services including individual, family and group therapy as well as psychiatric

assessments and medication management for children and adults with severe and

persistent mental illness. We specialize in working with children and adults

with developmental disabilities who have co-existing mental health issues.

Group therapies also include skills training groups such as social skills,

dating skills, assertiveness, and anger management training. The Community

Mental Health Center offers specialized individual, family, and group counseling

for family members, including siblings and caregivers to assist in the

management of emotional and life stressors related to supporting a person with a

disability. The goal of ARC Broward's Community Mental Health Center is to

advance mental wellness for persons with mental illness and developmental

disabilities, their family members and caregivers through the promotion of

excellence in mental health care. The center maintains a clinical staff of

licensed mental health therapists and social workers and a consultant

Psychiatrist. We accept Medicaid, Third Party Insurance, and Self-Pay. We also

offer a sliding scale based on ability to pay and some assistance might be

available through the United Way of Broward and the Department of Children &

Families.
