Guest guest
Hi Beth, I use it, but not often enough. I have Interstitial Cystitis and they recommend it for that. I have both tablets and powder. I forget to use it a lot but I really need to remember, lol. Thanks for reminding me. I'm going to be eating out a lot this week because a friend is coming in out of town and I'll take my pills with me, thanks! Ivy -- Prelief Has anyone here tried Prelief? It's an over-the-counter product for reducing acid in foods. My vulvodynia is worsened by high oxalate foods, for which I am on the low-oxalate diet. The diet greatly helps. However, despite being low-oxalate, there are certain foods that continue to irritate me (some fruits, tomatoes, etc.... foods on the acidic side). I find that, in addition to the low-oxalate diet, the Prelief seems to take the irritation out of acidic foods. Probably not all of them, but a great deal of them. It has really helped. Just thought I'd pass that on in hopes of helping someone at least a little.....

Guest guest
Thanks! I can't wait to see him in person. It's someone I've known from the net for about a year or so. We're very close. He's thinking of moving out here. Ivy -- Prelief Has anyone here tried Prelief? It's an over-the-counter product for reducing acid in foods. Guest guest
Hi Beth, I used to use Prelief regularly. I don't have to use it anymore, but I mainly used it for IC. I'm glad that it's helping you! Take Care,Chelle
Guest guest
Thanks, Chelle. I don't have IC myself, but in all the detective work that we have to do with these ailments, patterns start to emerge and we can begin to gauge what works and doesn't work. And I've found that the Prelief helps with my vaginal issues along with my other methodologies. When I combine everything, I can get near painfree days. What a gift that is! Guest guest
I so hear you, Beth...it's like we have to become detectives! ;-) I'd say the Prelief works so well because it's main ingredient is calcium. Aren't calcium supplements used as a treatment for those with high oxalates? I'm glad it's helping you...Chelle
Guest guest
Super! Hopefully he will move there and this will be advantageous for you both. I met a wonder man on the net three years ago. We found out we had a mutual friend (yes, I had that mutual friend give me the lowdown on him), and we met in person a few months later. Now we are being married in April. Life is very strange...... Guest guest
You are absolutely right in both regards. Yes, the Prelief consists of calcium glycerophosphate and magnesium stearate. I also take the usual calcium citrate (to bind with the oxalates in the intestines) and magnesium oxide (to balance the calcium and the intestinal tract... great for constipation). The magnesium also helps me sleep wonderfully, so I take it at night. Occasionally, I take Ox-Absorb too to pull the oxalates from the body. All of this has taken some time to do the trick, but it's working very well. Now I just hope I can maintain this improvement and get even better.
