Guest guest
I finally had an appointment with the doctor in rehab in charge of my son's case. We have seen him once every three months since my son was 13 months old, and he told us that he wouldn't seriously evaluate a child until he turned two. Well, my son is two now, so I was looking forward to getting serious. Well, it seems my doctor doesn't even know what verbal apraxia is. I am sick. What have we been doing all this time? My husband refuses to help me find a specialist until my son turns three, which is way too late in my eyes. Yet, I am living in Japan and my literacy skills aren't the best, so I don't know how to go about finding a doctor that knows what he is doing with my son. My strategy is to find ANY doctor in Japan who has experience with verbal apraxia and to then get a referral from that doctor to someone in our area. Does anyone know of a way to find Japanese doctors with knowledge of this problem?
