Guest guest
Good morning all! If anyone is working on this fine Memorial Day, I could use some help. This patient has a lesion on her ankle and under the differential, the doc says what sounds like **kerato-a-cam-phoma.** Any idea what that might be?? Thank you very much. Guest guest
Meg, Could it be keratoacanthoma? >From Stedman's: A rapidly growing tumor that may be umbilicated, and usually occurs on exposed areas of the skin in elderly white men, which invades the dermis but remains localized and usually resolves spontaneously if untreated; microscopically, the nodule is composed of well-differentiated squamous epithelium with a central keratin mass that opens on the skin surface.
