IMHO the best strategy is to tabulate how much you went overboard - often the numbers are not as dire as you may have imagined. Whether they are or not, it's important to do the math, b/c knowledge is power, even if it's not-so-good news. The next step is re-reading my Week One book and committing to being POP, then, of course, following through on this commitment. I would not try to *exercise off the extra points*, or do anything that would feel binge-y (I have a family history of eating disorders and am constantly afraid of triggering something in myself).
