Guest guest
Hi everyone, Well we had our second meeting with the dev ped today. I gave her both forms that she had requested us to fill out. She's also going to do a GARS test on him to see what she thinks the probabilities are that he has autism (or at least I think that's how it works). She gave me a copy of the eval from the last time we were there. We didn't get any diagnoses today, she's going to go over the forms I gave her, the school's test results, and do the GARS before she makes her diagnoses. We have to go back on April 5th. She did refer me to an ABA therapist though so we can hopefully get something going with them. I voiced my concerns very strongly about his impulsiveness. She saw it while we were in the room and she and I were talking. I told her about 2 of his running spells and she has perscribed Tenex for him. He's only taking like 1/4 of a tablet 2 times a day. She said this will help tone down his impulse to do things like that. She said that he has a slightly narrow and high arched palate on the top. She says that he has decreased muscle tone in the upper left and right extremities. He did score pretty moderatly low on the behavioral/developmental part. As of right now the plan is to have him in Special Ed *which he is in right now*. with OT and ST and other services as deemed by assesment. So we'll see what she has to say on the 5th of April when we go back. Leighanne --------------------------------- Bring photos to life! New PhotoMail makes sharing a breeze.
