Hi Kati,Welcome to the group, though I'm sorry you have to be here. I was able to understand your English just fine. ;-) There can be different reasons for vulvar pain, but you CAN get better. Have you gone to the National Vulvodynia Association website? http://www.nva.org If you contact them, they might 'know' of more doctors in Germany. I'm not sure, but it would be worth trying. Some women have trouble with infections, some have tight pelvic floor muscles that refer pain to the vulvar area and not 'true' infection. Some have problems with their spines that causes radiating vulvar nerve pain. For some, the cause can skin disorders, such as Lichen Sclerosis or Planus. Hormonal problems and food allergies can also be a cause. The fist thing I ever used that

helped the burning, and raw irritation was an antihistamine. I bought it over the counter and didn't need a prescription. Some women have found that changing their diet helps the pain. It's usually trial and error before finding what works. For me, using estrogen cream externally on the vulva has helped the most, but it won't work for everyone. I'll send in some info and maybe you can show it to your doctor and see if she will work with you! Take Care,ChelleHi everyone, i am new in this group and i am from Hamburg, Germany. And thats the reason why my English is just "schoolenglish" and itsdifficult for me with the special words. I chose this group because inGermany theres

no real specialist for Vulvodynia.I am 24 years old and it all begins when i was 13. I had a few yearsalways candida infections and i use in this time all medicamentsagainst that (Nystatin, Fluconazol, Creams thousand of it). Now ihavent an infection but over the years it begins to hurt outside andnow inside the vulva, too. The pain is so extremely that cant continuestudie at the university. My dr., she ist the only one in Hamburg who knows about Vulvodynia, diagnosed it at the beginning of the last year. I take Amitriptylin,Anafranil and then Lyrica but it all doesnt help. Now i dont now what to do because it seems that theres nobody whoknows more about it than my dr. She has told me that im the worst caseshe ever had. I would do anything that helps me maybe you have an ideaor a really good dr. who knows much about this problem. Does the nerveblock helps somebody? At the moment i dont know much

about thistherapy. Maybe you can help me somehow? Thanks a lotKati

kati: welcome to the group. This is really a bummer I know how you feel.

Like Chelle wrote, try an antihistamine.

Also, what really works for me is CalciumCitrate with Vitamin D. Yes a

vitamin. And also MSM helps me. In addition, just a plain vitamin D

supplement is good for pain. I don't know why.

I have taken Amitriptyline, then tried Neurontin and now take Lyrica to get

to a good place. Also some people think Cymbalta is good. It upset my

system so I do not take it. A good drug for pain that is NOT a controlled

substance is called Tramadol. It takes the edge off.

I am sharing what works for me. Also, I use Estrace Cream and the Estrace

Patch.

There is also people who believe that excercise like walking and stress

relief, and of meditation, and positive imagery and thinking are helpful.

Being positive all the time is well as you know something that has to be

developed. I tell myself that every day I am getting better and better in

every way and I say it out loud. Say positive thoughts out loud. Your

brain does not know the difference. Only talk about what you want... " as a

man thinks in his heart so is he "

Hang on and always feel free to talk to us here. We all know your pain in

some way. hugs, ML which means my name is Lou

" As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord

... " ( 24:15b).

Hi and welcome to the group, i had no ploblems at all with your

english.

unfortunatly it seems for most of us in the beggining we go quite

some time before diagnosis or the right treatement is found. dont

give up hope you will find it in the end.

i livee were there arenotmany doctors whom understand much about

vulvodynia either (New Zealand), but after about 1.5 years i found a

doctor whom atleast is understanding and tries her hardest to help me.

This is how i delt with my early times of pain and disomfort.

first things first and ice pack became my best friend(frozen peas

seem to bea favourite as they dont leak and can be refrozen)and ganve

the most instant relief. Then came research reading what else other

women were using and what sounded like i could try. i began using

calendula cream as a barrier against urin and blood which in itself

has been a huge help, drinking lots to dilute my urine and spyin with

water after urinating also help.

later came amitrip which works well for me but unfortunatly not for

you, but i know there are lots of others you can try, and 2%

lidocaine gel is great for numbing the whole area.

trial and error seems to be the way, dont give up someething willl

work for you.
