Lori~~Just want to let you know I am thinking about

you. It seems like just yesterday when I had my IVF

and what an exciting experience. I know your ovaries

feel like two huge sweetpotatoes right about now and

your probably very anxious. I was lucky enough to be

slightly awake when they retrieved the very first egg,

so I heard all the comotion and cherish that moment of

" hearing " the birth of my little egg who became an

embryo. ;-). Good luck and you will be in my thoughts

and prayers. Take it easy when you get home.

Just wanted you all to know my retrieval went extremely well this morning.

I had an initial scare, though. We arrived at the surgical center & NO ONE WAS

THERE!! I totally freaked, thinking I'd gone to the wrong place. So we called

the doctors office, they paged him & he called me back to say the nurses were on

their way. LOL!

We got 16 eggs, which is really great, and we'll get a fertilization report

tomorrow. The anesthesia was called MAC - it was a twilight sleep. I don't

remember a thing and didn't feel a bit of pain. The procedure only took 10

minutes.

We picked up at my inlaws' and went to breakfast, now we are home so I'm

off to take a nap.

Go Bears!

I hope everything goes well for you Lori, and you have some really great

news for us soon. Has it been very painful so far?

Kind Regards,

retrieval update

I saw the RE yesterday and we are go for retrieval tomorrow morning at 7 am.

I had lots of follicles in the 14 - 18 mm range, which is really a good

sign. The transfer will be Wednesday.

I'm trying not to get too excited, but this has been a textbook cycle and I

am excited despite myself. Excited & anxious for it all to be over with.

My family is here for Thanksgiving, they leave early tomorrow morning so my

MIL is keeping tonight for us. Thank God!! Usually my FIL has some

excuse why they can't do it, so it's good this time she said yes.

Anyhow, prayers & good thoughts would sure be appreciated.

hugs, lori

Lori,

Congratulations! I'm so glad things went so well

for you.

Do you know what MAC stands for, or what type of

anesthesia was used? How was your recovery? I'm

probably going to pursue ivf soon and I just hate

going under anesthesia...takes me forever to recover

and I always get nauseous.

Please keep us posted....sending lots of positive

thoughts and baby dust! *******************

Hi, Terri. I've no idea what MAC stands for but it was lovely :>).

The anesthesiologist put in an IV and then said he was starting the

medicine. I was out in two seconds. The nice thing about this

anesthesia is that you wake up directly afterwards & don't feel woozy

for too long. I was in recovery for 10 minutes then went home.

Today I feel a little crampy, but really pretty good. I'm at work

and not having any problems.

If you ever need any info on the IVF stuff, feel free to ask. This

is our second & I feel quite the expert :>). I can tell you this one

was so much easier than our first, which was four years ago. Thanks

for the baby dust!
