Guest guest
Hi: My daughter has been on the pill since she was 15 and diagnosed with Crohns. The pill helped regulate her periods and eliminate most of her cramps. But, I just found out this week that hormones are good for Crohnnies and that many, many women go into remission while pregnant and don't need their meds. She has no side effects from the pill, she is 19. Sherri -------------- Original message -------------- I had no idea, Hollis, that she was the one on the show. That's really good, though! I hope more and more awareness will happen. You and I know first hand the importance of these issues. I plan to use estrogen for as long as I possibly can! ;-) How are you doing, Hollis? I hope the sound sensitivity is better! Have you seen K. lately? Hugs, Chelle Chelle, This was the doctor who was featured on Oprah's hormone show. As i said, i was quite shocked that she had someone this good on. . . . Hollis
Guest guest
Chelle, Actually, the main guest was Dr. Phil's wife (i can't remember her name), who recentlypublished a book on hormonal problems and using bio-identicals. And O. also featured her beloved Dr. Christiane Northrup and talked up her Wisdom of Menopause book. Then, with Dr. Oz tagging along to get educated, they showed portions of a consult with Dr. Hallby a woman badly in need of hormone balancing -- first her intake, and then their goingover her results (low, low, and lower. . . ). And finished with the woman speaking fromthe audience after having been on hormone replacement for only a week, looking andfeeling world's better. (She'd been having constant hot flashes and they pretty muchdisappeared.) For someone watching who knew nothing about hormones or what to do and was totally confused and unable to figure out if estrogen was a terrible thing or not, given all theWHI hysteria, i thought it was a quite decent introduction. And Oprah ended by sayingthat this was just the beginning and there would be further shows on the topic, so that'sgood. Oh, yeah, for balance sake, she also had a clip of Dr. Utian, that pharmaceutically bought-off MD that heads the North American Menopause Society (their motto: Premarin is Great!!!) saying that bio-identicals were not benign, inferring that they were dangerous. But the main thrust was how important being balanced was and how effective bio-identicals could be. The before and after of the woman sent off to California to see Dr. Hall was definitely good advertisement for them. And another poor woman, who was in extremely bad shape, is being sent off for HER consult with Dr. Hall and will be featured in a later program. It's the usual excitement with my various health issues. My sound sensitivity is still quite bad, but better than it can be, so that's nice. Crotch-wise, the last few days i've had some unusually bad vestibular pain that i think was triggered (or at least intensified) an hemorrhoid flare-up. and then my bladder, which had been so good for months and months and months decided to also get in on the act, as well. Not fun. . . . Something similar, pain-wise, happened not long before my last appointment with , so i was hoping that we could identify something (by the look of the discharge, she thought it was Group B Strep), but nothing showed up in the cultures, so i'm not sure what's going on.That appointment was a few months ago and was due to see her again in a few days, but i had to reschedule. So it'll be the end of February before i can see her again, unfortunately. With this latest vestibular weirdness, i wish it could be sooner, but so it goes. The good news, crotch-wise, is that the fusion of my clitoral hood has definitely improved. I had been using clobetasol very sparingly, per 's instructions -- only 2x/week. But, after my last appointment, where she could see that things were not improving and, if anything, were worsening, she had me up it to 3x/week. I didn't see any signs of improvement for a few weeks (and was really wondering if i should up it a bit moremyself, considering many doctors rx using it every day initially, since i wasn't enjoyingseeing my clitoris go bye-bye), but, as of the last few weeks, there's a big improvementand my clitoris is now definitely much more visible and free. I do appreciate the factthat is cautious in using such a potent steroid.Goodness, this got lengthy. So there you have it (sort of)!Hollis I had no idea, Hollis, that she was the one on the show.
