Hi Vicky,I would be careful about self treating a possible infection. At this point, I think I'd try to go to a doc and get checked for an actual infection. Sometimes, though, when you do have an infection and even after you treat it, the inflammation process can still be on-going. That doesn't mean you would actually still have an infection, though. It's like the nerves can get worked up and still be sending pain signals. Antihistamines are good for inflammation and itching, but of course you wouldn't want to use them and cover up a true infection. I sure hope this makes sense. If you rule out infection for sure, than an oral antihistamine might calm things down. I used to feel worse from ovulation until I would start my period, too. For me, it was because my progesterone levels

were higher than my estrogen levels. Hormone imbalances can sure reek havoc! Take Care,Chelle

issue's with Yeast too, this is how everything started with me about 18

months ago. I finally left treating myself once last year and got a

positive Candida result so I guess I just assume now?

I take anti-histamine very day at the mo (sinus issues), although went

away last week and forgot to take them with me, this may be a factor.

I've still got the new Estrogen cream to try so myabe I'll try that.

Interestingly I had my hormones checked and they were slighlty in the

pre-menopause range, how have you tried to rebalance yours?

Estrogen cream worked wonders for me - but just a tiny bit - and not inserted vaginally - just a tiny bit on external areas along with calendula cream - 3 to 1 ratio

The only way I got rid of yeast was to go on the candida diet and take nystatin as directed in The Yeast Connection Handbook. Diflucan did not work for me.

Diflucan never seems to work for me either. Right now I'm dealing with the yeast infection from hell and I'm going to call my gyno as soon as she opens this morning.

I have kind of a gross question so forgive me here. I've never had an odor with yeast other then a slightly sweet odor. I've had a really bad odor for about a month now. I originally thought it was from BV which I treated with metrogel but the odor hasn't gone away. I've since had to take a course of antibiotics for a sinus infection which is what gave me the bad yeast infection, so now I don't know what the heck is causing the odor and itching and burning. Like I said, I'm going to call my gyno this morning and get in ASAP but has anyone ever had this problem before?

Thanks-

Ivy

Having Yeast infections is just the pits and seems to be a major cause

of Vulvodynia from what I have read.

I used the Candida diet along with Diflucan and Nystatin and haven't had

an infection since last April, the problem was I lost so much weight I

didn't stick with it. I need to be strict again and maybe go on a

course of Diflucan again and see what happens, I'm pretty sure it's

yeast as I've been quite itchy and I've only ever had the itching when

I've had an infection and it started after a couple of good loving

nights ( sorry!).

I've never had an odour with Yeast so I think you should have that

checked. Things have certainly improved for me over the last few months

so I'm hoping this is just a small hicup.

Thanks for your reply's everyone's advice is very helpful

Sorry, one other thing, when you get a Yeast infection now and treat it

how long does it take to clear up? I'm only JUST staring to feel better

a week on and that's after 2 Diflucan tablets and Daktakort!

Men can and often do carry yeast in their urinary tract and this can help to

pass it back and forth. Condoms are a girl's best friend.
