I went to doc after doc and they said oh well or tried drug treatments. I finally went on the candida diet and kept a food diary. I found certain foods triggered this. When I first started the diet, I also took Nystatin antifungal as precribed in THE YEAST CONNECTION HANDBOOK by Crook. See if your library has that book. I was told my every gyn I did not have yeast then I had my tongue scraped by my family doc and she told me I had a rare yeast on my tongue. Not every yeast is candida albicans. And not all yeast responds to diflucan. I also saw a natural nutritionist and a Chinese medical doctor. The Chinese doctor told me I had digestive issues because my tongue was white. The nutrionist said I could have an intolence to gluten. They were both RIGHT. The GYNS were WRONG. Now I have to watch what I eat and not over do the sugar, corn syrup, what or dairy. After 4 months on the strict diet when i started, the burning and itching was gone. I can have a flare up if I eat poorly do not get enough rest or do not take my supplements. But if I do it is barely anything and totally tolerable. When I first got this the burning was insane.

I agree with blueeberri as far as the itching and uncomfortable feeling. I have been on the yeast diet and I can't believe how much better I feel. I believe I will be on this type of eating forever. I can really tell when I have overdone it or just eaten something I should not have. If I am careful I can eat treats just don't overdue it. I recently picked up a couple little pocket books that have been helpful as well. The author is Don CobertMd and the 2 books I picked up are The Bible Cure for Candida and Yeast Infections and Recipes for overcoming candida. The first one has a wealth of information and the second one has some nice recipes in it. I have tried a couple and they are good. Hope this helps.

I found it at books a million. I am sure you could find it anywhere. I was in the christian living area looking for something else and I stumpled across it. Maybe on line you could find it.

Thanks! Diet is something i definitely haven't tackled yet. I have a

horrible sweet tooth so i'm sure that doesn't help. Diabetes also runs

in my family which i know can cause itching as well, but i've had my

blood sugar tested so many times and it's normal each time.

Is the diet really difficult to follow? I feel like the main foods i

eat ARE yeasty. :-/ But i'm willing to try something if it means being

relief-free.

This was very helpful, thank you!
