I'm sorry you are going through this right now - I feel your pain - we have all been there. Cortisone cream is a steroid and thins the skin, and in my opinion makes matters worse in the long run. If you can, try s Calendula Cream - it is soothing and calming and all natural - it is very healing. Good Luck and hang in there!

Did anyone save what to do when you are having a flare that Dee wrote? Plese

post it again so starrydust can read it. thanks, As far as your wardrobe,

if you cannot stand undies then go without and wear a LONG skirt with a slip

to keep you warm and wear socks and boots to keep your feet warm and put a

scarf or a hat on your head..ten percent of your body heat escapes thru your

head..you are young enough to make it stylish...also put a camisole or use a

sleeveless tee as a camisole to add a layer. Layers keep you warm and

comfy. I dont know if this is what you are looking for in suggestions ..it

is what I do when I think I need to back off from sweat pants and jeans.

hugs, happy studies, ML

I've begun to experience another flare up, and wearing jeans seem to

aggravate it a lot more lately. Even underwear is getting to me (I

just don't know what to do.

I've been taking doxepin every night for the past week like my gyn's

nurse said and applying hydrocortisone cream and it's done NOTHING. I

keep hearing mixed reactions to using hydro cortisone cream often. I

don't know what to do...or what i should wear...or how to calm things

down. I hate being in class everyday and being constantly aware of

having an itchy/sore vagina. ugh!

I just happened to think of the University of Phoenix that is offering

classes on line. I know our community college here in McKinney also offers

that. Is that a possibility? love, ML

i know there are distance universities who offers that but

unfortunately not my " normal " university in Hamburg. And i think for

my course of studies there ist also no chance at the distance

university, sadly. I have no idea, anyhow there seems to be no

solution...and anytime i have to administrate my future avocation and

a normal life. But thank you for your idea

I know that the the steroid ointments can thin the skin if not used

properly. Hydorcortisone cream which I can buy over the counter is very

mild. Are you using clobestasol or Temovate as some call it? Yes, it

can thin the skin, but for now that seems to be one of the best

treatments for lichen planus and lichen sclerois. Please speak with

your doctor.
