Guest guest
Sharon, What a beautiful parrot. She looks a lot like my brothers which we had to give away when he passed away. What a set of lungs that bird had! We might could have sold her but we were lucky enough to have a neighbor that wanted her. We thought, yea, right. Wait till she gets an ear full and we will be getting her back. Just the opposite. That bird was music to her ears. That was in 1992 and she still has her. I don't read all the post but it looks like from some of the pictures that you have a man made pond. It's beautiful and your pictures are great! Joyce E [ ] Re: quick update on meHello, Kam the Amazing! All I can say, is there is nothing like good sushi to get a girl goingout to dinner 9 days post-op. Now, I think there are some bricks thatneed to be moved, and some sky diving awaits, so get busy!I am so happy for you that you are experiencing relief from thathorrible nerve pain in the leg. I know it firsthand--it's whatpropelled me into my surgery, and it's amazing to wake up and feelthat pain, which has pretty much been consuming your life for so long,is gone (and good riddance, right?!) So major congrats!!!!Also, just to let you know, my parrot and I have successfullycompleted the Happy Dance, and are now in the collaborative process ofcomposing the Elated Tango for you. Bonedust did the choreography, sohe'll show you how it goes when you get home.
Guest guest
Thank you, Joyce. It is a WOMAN made pond, and is still not quite finished. You'd be amazed how much of the work I did myself. I did have a man with a backhoe remove most of the dirt, and a team of friends helped lay the liner. It is one of the passions of my life, right up with that little cuddle-bird. That's great about your neighbor loving your brother's bird. One of my bird's nicknames is Screecher-Creature, so ya, I know about the big voices! It's worth it for the joy she brings, though. She's an awesome watch-bird. No activity around the house escapes her notice! Guest guest
I don't know Sharon. Was that our Racine or identity theft? I don't remember seeing the lighter side of before. I kind of like it. Joyce E [ ] Re: Parrot> Your brothers are parrots? ;-) Sorry, I couldn't resist.> > >>>> Sharon,>> What a beautiful parrot. Guest guest
I agree, Joyce. But I think the truth may be that has a brother who's a parrot who loves to surf the internet. This discussion caught his eye, and he thought he'd turn attention to YOU instead of to him. (Does that make any sense? Well, it's after midnight and I've taken my loopy pills.) Guest guest
Thank you, my friend. BTW, never having had a middle name (I tell my kids we were too poor) I have, since marrying, kept my maiden name as a middle name. I even gave it to my second son as a middle name -- e Myron. Guest guest
Now that I think about it I think you have uncovered 's secret. She had nothing to do with the writing of that post. Her parrot brother is using her internet address to search for buddies and bingo! He has found them right here on the scoliosis _revised board. And now that it is all out in the open, would probably appreciate it if we would quit harassing her and her parrot. (Cam is probably about one post away from telling us this is not scoliosis related) Joyce E [ ] Re: Parrot> Your brothers are parrots? ;-) Sorry, I couldn't resist.> > >>>> Sharon,>> What a beautiful parrot. Guest guest
Joyce E, Oh Joyce, I do hope you are kidding...I would never want to be considered a " scold " !! I would never, ever post about staying " on-topic " . The heart of this board is the expression of who we are...and how we find joy and fun in life...as well as the tears and the pain. I don't think any of us would enjoy this place much if it devolved into a joke telling site...but my opinion is, as long as no one is being mean or hurtful or prescribing/practicing medicine... " let 'er rip! " It is probably as good a time as any to restate for newcomers that I do not consider this " my " board....it is all of ours. I just got her up and running since I had idle time while in the recovery period (and another board was turning somewhat unpleasant). The day will come when someone else can have a turn at some of the functions I have been doing..it will no doubt be a healthy thing and keep this group fresh and interesting! I really do not mean to have too strong a voice...it's just the Controller in me that comes through from time to time. So squawk on parrot lovers! Guest guest
Believe it or not, our parrot is very much a real person with quite a personality, sense of humor and all! I've been lucky enough to have met and spent an afternoon with her, and she's been kind enough to lend an ear when I need one. And believe me, preparing for surgery at UCSF next month, I've needed one! Thank you for being kind enough to put up with me on the phone, and many, many thanks in advance for being there for me next month! ~CA ~ > >> > >> Sharon, > >> What a beautiful parrot. Guest guest
I'm hoping that the freer, kinder atmosphere on this site will bring out more of the real . :^) Sharon PS, I really don't think anyone implied WAS a parrot, only that her brother was. Many of us are familiar with brothers who are asses, and that doesn't make asses of us! No offense to -- I don't even know if she has a brother, besides, some of my best friends have been parrots! Guest guest
Hey, that's cool, Carole. The Spanish use mother's and father's surnames, and I guess they can get quite long, depending on how far back they wish to go. Sharon Re: [ ] Re: Parrot Thank you, my friend.
