I will pray for this girl she has a long and hard road ahead of here. However, things happen for a reason and God will see them thru this. In fact, they said that they were also going to charge her mom for neglect for letting it happen in her house.. lack of supervision, condoning the relationship.. stuff like that. They know that there are consequences for your actions and they are not always easy. My SIL and I have been completely up front with each of them about their cousin's situation and they see how it effects others every day. Guest guest Posted June 26, 2003 Report Share Posted June 26, 2003 One of the teens that go to my church informed us that her little sister has hidden a pregnancy.She just turned twelve and will be having a baby in a few weeks.I'm still in shock! Her mom is pg too!Ther is no dad around.Her 12 yr daughter is pg by a 17 boy she allowed to stay in her house!This lady has only daughters and she lets this,,, basically a man!!! stay there.I can't believe it! Guest guest Posted June 26, 2003 Report Share Posted June 26, 2003 Yeah,we live in Tx..I'm not sure what's going to happen.My oldest is also 12...I just can't imagine.I do kinda feel angry at her mom.I cried just thinking about her little body in labor,it's hard enough on a grown woman,much less a child.This family needs a lot of prayer.Pray also that Gods will be done in the precious lives of all the babies involved. I had a baby at 16, and that was really hard on my body. I could not imagine how much it is going to do to her little body. Let me have a piece of him. He had no business. None whatsoever. He should be in juvi.. or something... Its just sick...That poor girl.. I hope that she has good family support and a loving church family to see her and them through this .. Seen this happen many times when I worked with Social services....perhaps someone can make a phone call to the authorities and give them a heads up? Sad situation. I have a sister that had an abortion at 14. I didn't know until I was much older, as my mom didn't want anyone to know,and was so ashamed. She thought it was a quick fix, later learned how much she'd regret it. That sister did too. Guest guest Posted June 26, 2003 Report Share Posted June 26, 2003 Although this is a sad story and I feel horrible for all involved, I just wanted to point out something that no one has voiced. There could be another side to this situation. I am not sure of the girl's upbringing, although, it seems questionable. There is also the possibility that other factors have contributed. Let's try to remember that at 17 years old, the " guy " is just a child as well. At 12 years old, things in this young lady's life may have led her to become sexually aggressive herself - even if it is just a self-esteem issue. Things such as a role model (her mother), she could be a possible victim of molestation, lack of a father often times leads girls to look for " attention " by whatever means. I'm not saying that it makes this situation right, but I have a family member who was in a situation such as this (no pregnancy though) and charges were pressed. In the course of the investigation, we found out several things. Those of us who know 12 year old girls think that all 12 year old girls are the same. I can tell you that this particular girl, who was 13, could have gotten into a bar. And not all twelve year old girls are innocent. I'm not saying that the girl you are speaking of asked for it or is a tramp...not at all. I'm just saying that we need to look at things from another perspective sometimes. Most 17 year old boys are quite immature...heck, I know several 30 year old boys that haven't matured yet. Sometimes bad things happen to children or they are raised around not-so-positive things. If they are not given the proper tools to deal with life, sometimes they don't make very wise choices. My prayers are with all involved. It's a bad situation, but God has a plan. It just may take some time to unfold. Someone once told me, when you have a boy, you have only one pecker to worry about. When you have a girl, you have to worry about all of the rest of the peckers in town. I became sexually active at a very young age, and I attribute it to abuse stemmed over a period of 10 years. Some of us confuse sex with love, and it all starts from there. I should not have been so hasty to verbally attack the young man, but, like I said, it is amazing how your opinions and views change when you become a parent. I hope she has a good support group. When I told my mom that I was pregnant, she threatened me with a " Home abortion " and handed me a grocery sack, and told me to fill it up with as much as I could, and to get the hell out. Never in a million years, would I do that to someone. Especially, my own flesh and blood. I will pray for her and for her family for strength, and understanding. Thanks for opening my eyes. They were both arrested and throw in Juvenille hall. Never heard what happen after that. Sex is illegal at any age under 18 down there and if parents or social services want to push it can arrest both parties. Regardless I know that at the age of 12 I was not the most honest girl about my age with older boys. I didn't realize the risk that I was playing or taking until later in life. It scares me to think that I have a 12 year old son and a 9 year old daughter that are getting close to the age where I was acting rambuctious. Kids are alot different today then when I was that age. Shoot Dh and I still joke that at 12 we were both making out with each other in his tent in the back yard. I think there are two sides to every story and to me the 12 year old is just as guilty as the 17 year old. They are still both kids and have alot of growing up to do. Regardless of either age they now made a baby and this will change thier life in some way or other no matter what choice they decided. Not sure who posted about getting pg and mom handing her a bag and telling her to pack what she could in there. That is a shame and my heart goes out to you. I had my son at the age of 17 and my mom dropped me off at a girls home for unwed teenage moms. Then she moved to Oregan. I feel in my heart that I can only teach my kids what is right and the choices they make in life are thiers to live with. I will always love them and stand behind them no matter what.
