Guest guest
Be a little wary of the points listed on dottie's site. Whenever someone sends her info, she posts it, not tried and true. No malice is intended, sometimes human error comes into play. Just check your points if you are able, if not, dottie's is a very good guide. Blessings, Beckie Where are you located, ? My leader's name is Mike, too, in Texas. http://www.dwlz.com/Special%20Menus/menu7.html The recipes look great and it's really nice to have all the points counted. Many of my family members are on WW, all of us brand new, and these recipes will be a great help in planning our Turkey Day meal.
Guest guest
Hi Beckie, Wow...thanks for the tip...I'm still learning, and right now points don't really *mean* anything, so to speak. I'll double check her tallies! I'm in north Houston...this Mike teaches up here at a few different locations. Think it's the same one? Are you in Houston? Guest guest
Hey, , I think we have the same 'Mike'! Isnt he a hoot?! We just love him. He comes up to Huntsville on Tuesdays and does our morning meetings. I, like alot of folks, only go to him, and not the lady in the afternoons. Have a great holiday, Blessings, Beckie > Hi Beckie, > > Wow...thanks for the tip...I'm still learning, and right now points don't > really *mean* anything, so to speak. Guest guest
Hi Beckie, Well isn't it a small world?!?! Yes, he's definitely a hoot and very motivating. Being that my family is all new to WW, we're following his Thanksgiving tips to the T and expecting weight loss this week. In fact, I'm making his recipe for pumpkin pie this morning...LOL! Guest guest
Yeah, I copied that down too. Did he tell you what to do for damage control, if you over do it? Let me know and I will tell you what he said. By the way, the comments about dottie's website I got from him. He is the one that emailed her about an error, and she told him she just posts what people send her. He is very motivational, and just a class act. My aunt used to go to him with the Shell-Exxon group, but, she has not been in a while. How long have u been with ww? I started in april and have lost 55 pounds. Guest guest
Can you send the recipe for pumpkin pie to the list? If you posted it before I missed it . . . I am really impressed that Beckie lost 55 pounds since April! WOW and Congratulations! I have lost about 40 since March. It is very slow going for me . . . about 1/2 pound per week. I am in awe of folks that are losing it quickly and wonder what I am missing. So, please share what you are doing. I am following Weight Watchers [flex points] and don't usually eat the 35 bonus points. I am NOT doing much exercise -- I know I should . . . Thanks, Tricia Re: Thanksgiving (was: a gentle reminder...) Yeah, I copied that down too. Did he tell you what to do for damage control, if you over do it? Guest guest
Hello, Hope this is not too late for you... Pumkin Pie, 4 pts per slice, one pie is 8 slices 3/4 cup splenda 1/2 tsp salt 1 tsp cinnamon 1/2 tsp ginger 1/4 tsp cloves 1/2 cup egg beaters 1 can pumkin 1 can low fat evap milk GREAT VALUE graham cracker crust, if you use the other, it adds a point to the slice Combine, bake for 15 minutes at 425, then 30-40 minutes at 350. Top with Fat Free cool whip Am not sure why some folks lose more quickly than others, but, one thing I can tell you is that I do use all 35 of my flex points, via our WW leader. He preaches that all the time. It would seem that if you don't, you would lose more, but, it does not work that way. He uses his on friday, saturday and sunday. If you spread them out 5 points a day all week, you will not lose weight very quickly either. Also, exercise speeds up the weight loss, but, is not necessary. I have also found that even if I stay within points, if I am eating out alot, or eating alot of processed food and not alot of veggies, that my weight loss slows down. So, I have better weight loss when I eat veggies, even canned ones. Just hang in there, we can all do this. Try a little walking (that is all I do), and add some veggies, and you might spike some good loss. Have a great holiday! Blessings, Beckie Can you send the recipe for pumpkin pie to the list? Guest guest
You're not missing anything! 40 pounds since March is pretty darn impressive....talk about slow going, I've only lost 25 pounds and I've been at this for a year. I keep waiting for that Oprah-like or Tory-like switch to go off in my head and make me really change my lifestyle radically enough to make the weigh come off faster. But it hasn't happened yet, as much as I want this. I comfort myself in the fact that I haven't lost the faith, I'm still committed -- haven't done any backsliding -- and as slowly as I'm losing, I'm still losing and I weigh less now than I have since 1994. I may not be eating as well or exercising as much as I could -- but I am still making the effort to eat well and to exercise. From what I see, it is really exercise that seals the deal long term.. Guest guest
Hi Beckie, Wow...congrats on your 55 pounds! Sorry so late in getting back with you! Yes, Mike did explain his " damage control " , but using ww recipes, it wasn't necessary. I even lost 2 lbs last week! :-D Yesterday (Friday) was the beginning of my 3rd week. I mentioned meeting someone from his Huntsville group, and he knew you by name and said you've done really well. Small world, huh? Renée Re: Thanksgiving (was: a gentle reminder...)
