Guest guest
Has anyone tried a salt rinse or soak? I was told previously to try this and I did once but I was painful after but was considering trying it agian if there was any chance of it helping. I have an area that seems to become red, raw and inflamed often and it's very sore right now. It's in the vestibule where the two inner labia meet just back from the clitoris. It's been difficult to sit or walk for the last few days because it feels like a piece of sandpaper is there. I just don't know what to do for it haha because no one seems to know what it is or even acknowledge it IS SOMETHING.

Guest guest
I guess it might but I was thinking of how we use salt rinses for issues such as mouth sores and saline water for our eyes. I just don't know anymore anything. > > I don't have any experience with it but I imagine salt on something sore > would burn like heck, no? > ivy > > -- Salt? > > Has anyone tried a salt rinse or soak? Guest guest
Well if I am correct epsom salt is mainly magnesium as opposed to table or sea salt. > > From: ivy > Subject: Re: Salt? > To: VulvarDisorders > Date: Thursday, January 8, 2009, 11:41 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > I don't have any experience with it but I imagine salt on something sore would burn like heck, no? > ivy > > -- Salt? > > Has anyone tried a salt rinse or soak? Guest guest
Hey R., I don't think I would try a soak with table salt...but I would try epsom salt. I would think the table salt would have a drying effect. Where epsom salt contains magnesium, it can reduce inflammation and swelling and is good for soreness and aching. I know it's very frustrating right now, but hang tough...you WILL find answers...just keep telling yourself that! You truly have to encourage yourself through the pain. I know it's hard, believe me, I do! Hugs, ChelleHas anyone tried a salt rinse or soak?
