Guest guest
Can anyone recommend at DAN doctor in Nassau or Queens area in New York? I am having a difficult time finding one that will take on new patients. Also if anyone has the list of bloodwork that has mentioned in previous forums I would greatly appreciate obtaining it. Thanks!

Guest guest
Wow, I don't remember paying that. Maybe you can submit to your insurance after services are rendered? Call your insurance company to see if that is possible. And if I remember it is not only for 1 visit. He takes you through allergy testing and subsequent visits. It isn't $500 for each visit. I remember paying my $25 copay each time I went there, but that was 3 years ago. Maybe his business has grown so much in the last years,he no longer takes insurance. Unfortunately this is the way some of the best doctors go, no insurance taken. It makes it so hard on us. Then he will send you for the bloodwork at a local lab. So that should be taken care of by insurance. Ask the receptionist and if she is the same person, she was very nice and helpful. I forgot her name, sorry it was 3 years ago and we have since moved out of state. He put my son on a gluten free- casein free diet and supplements first, then depending on the bloodwork there are other option to explore... nasal sprays for allergies, vitamin b shots, secretin, and chelation and other vitamins. There are all different avenues to explore. He doesn't push, he only recommends what he thinks may help your child. You have the final say on what you feel is the best for your child. Both of them are good. As a side note, one month after putting my son on a gluten and casein free diet he started talking at 4.5 years. coincidence?!?!?!? who knows, but the end result is what I wanted. We were on the diet for 2 years and finally came off of it last June when my son was hospitalized for 1 month with a ruptured appendix and wasn't eating (non-related to his diet). They said if he didn't gain more weight or eat more they would have to put a tube down his nose to feed him. I stopped it there and gave him his favorite goldfish crackers and chocolate ice cream and hand fed him. No tube, but then again I didn't see any negative behaviors or reactions in him either when we came off the diet. He still favors rice cakes instead of pretzels and likes cranberry juice over milk. Maybe the 2 years is what he needed for his body to adjust? Hope all works out well for you, Lori In a message dated 10/1/2006 7:10:48 P.M. Guest guest
This list is a bit dated since Dr. Holmes hasn't practiced in a while. You'll find a more current list on the ARI website. It's good to see who Dr. Holmes can personally recommend though. > > Try this: _http://www.healing-arts.org/children/amyholmes.htm#NJ_ > (http://www.healing-arts.org/children/amyholmes.htm#NJ) for a list of DAN doctors! > > Laurie > > >

Guest guest
Does anyone know of a good DAN doctor in the Chicago metropolitan area (Western suburbs specifically)? I'd really like to start going to a doctor who has an understanding of biomedical treatments. Our pediatrician laughed at me when I showed him the testing I had done on my daughter that showed her high copper levels and other heavy metal toxicity. I'd also like to find a Neuro MD or developmental pediatrician, if anyone knows one in Chicago. Thanks, Becky McFarland
Guest guest
Kristeen - Do you go to Dr. Usman? I have called his/her office once and left a msg, but no one returned my call. I guess I'll try again. Thanks, Becky
Guest guest
The number is (630) 505-4040 The waiting list is 6-18 months long, but there is a Physician's Assitant on her team that can see much more quickly than that you to at least get testing ordered immediatley. Dr. Usman is considered one of the best in the field. People fly from all over the country for her. I highly recommend her practice. -------------- Original message -------------- From: kristeenp@... I was in the ER and the A**, piece of CRAP so called Professional's eyes would have rolled out of his head when I mentioned metals & hair analysis. Had I known now/then... I would mirror his arrogant a** attitude with every ounce of my being. Give it right back to them, they all actually believe they are superior. Disgusting! As for DAN Dr. I'm in MI and have just made an appt with Dr. DeMio, OH (drdemio.com) his first available is Dec 15th. 450.00 for initial visit and 160. for subsequent... Well worth it, here's a guy who's devoted his life to getting at the truth. He also has an ASD kid, so that in itself makes a huge difference to me. just my 2 cents.. Guest guest
I don't go to Dr. Usman. I know of her because she shares an office with my uncle who is a chiropractor. She did treat a niece of mine who has shown such great progress. In a message dated 10/4/2006 1:08:57 P.M. Central Standard Time, Becky.Mcfarland@... writes: Kristeen - Do you go to Dr. Usman?
