Guest guest
Lindsey,I definitely believe diet & exercise can help PCOS! Just out of curiosity, did your twin sister ever use the pill? My goodness, it's hard to believe it's so close to Chloe's arrival. ;-) Take Care,Chelle

Guest guest
, PCOS stands for " Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. Guest guest
Lindsey, That definitely gives me hope! I have PCOS symptoms too but not full blown PCOS. The main symptoms i've had are the abnormal periods (i would either bleed for days or it would stop completely for months) and acne. THey did a hormone panel on me, and my levels seemed consistent with it. I haven't been told that i have any cysts and so i'm not sure if i actually have the condition. At the moment I don't exercise and my diet really isn't that good. So this is motivation to work on those aspects. So you stopped taking the pill and the doctors said it was fine, or you just decided to on your own? Thanks! -Nureena > > My experience is that I took the pill for many years. I have an identical twin sister. I have vulvar pain she does not. I also had PCOS type symptoms, not full-blown PCOS (I m in decent shape, no acne, etc.), but I had some amenorrhea, abnormal periods, and multiple cysts. I cleaned up my diet, reduced refined carbs, added MORE exercise (ie-from 3-4x per week to daily) and got rid of anything that might have synethic hormones (plastic containers, non-organic milk and meat, etc). My cycles really became regulated after that, I had no more cysts, and I conceived a baby in about two months of trying. > Just my experience. > Lindsey >
Guest guest
> > > Lindsey, I have PCOS too, and I have finally gotten my periods more regular through diet. I am not strict by any means and every person is different, but I lost almost 50 pounds doing Weight Watchers and the unexpected benefit was that my cycles became more regular. I have also been told that I won't have to go on glucophage (to combat the insulin-resistance that I was heading toward previously). I have an ultrasound annually both to look for cysts and due to the fact that my mom had Ovarian cancer. My ovaries look like swiss cheese, but no major cyst problems so far. (Thank Heaven for some things!) Like I said, everyone is different and you need to do what works for you. My PCOS symptoms were not as severe as many people's to begin with. BTW- I am not on the pill, as I believe it contributed to, if not caused my Vestibulitis. Good luck! I hope you have healthier days ahead! > That definitely gives me hope! Guest guest
Oops...I forgot to add... I took the pill AND MY TWIN SISTER DID NOT. I have vulvar pain and she does not. Also, I STILL had ovarian cysts on the pill. In my opinion the pill just POORLY masks symptoms of PCOS-which is actually an ENDOCRINE system problem that has to do with the complex interaction between hormones of estrogen, testosterone, and insulin. Diet and exercise are the things that will help heal you. I went off the pill against medical advice and both my vulvar problems improved and my PCOS did, too. I started getting better when I stopped listening to doctors above my own inner wisdom. I would NEVER have this baby on the way if I had believed the doctors. Your body can heal and I believe your body WANTS to be in balance. Lindsey
